I understand a DVC contract can be gifted to your children, but what if you want to gift your contract to a non-family member? My neighbor's asked if I would like theirs after my recent trip to WDW. They wanted to make it a gift since I help them with day-to-day chores like shopping taking their dog to the vet, and home maintenance. I never expected to be paid for being their friend or neighbor. I feel that's too valuable and offered to buy it, but they said they have no relatives that would use it and would rather gift it to me as a thank you. Is this permitted? They bought direct from Disney and haven't used it in years, but never banked or sold any points. They thought they automatically went into the bank at DVC!! They're looking for their paperwork now They couldn't recall which resort but said they have kept the dues paid every year. This sounds too good to be true and I'm excited to see if we can legally do this since DVC seems to keep changing their rules.
Also, since they bought direct would DVC put restrictions on my use like a resale?
I would most certainly appreciate any light on subject.
Fingers crossed on this
