Hi all!

Heading to the World on Wednesday and had a question. Is there a way to get a Disney GC loaded onto our magicbands?

Magicbands are just id cards nothing gets loaded onto them. If you want to charge using your bands you must have a room at a disney owned and operated resort. It's not charging with a magicband, it's charging to your room and you can use your magicband for disney to look up what room you are.

To be complete for those with a room, the answer is still no but you can make periodic payments with your gift card at the front desk so it will not charge your card.

As @Accident stated you can have a credit card on your room account. You charge to your room using your Magic Band to access your account. Then you can go to the desk and pay the balance using a gift card. That way the credit card is never actually charged, just your hotel account.

Thanks, y'all! We had several gift cards on our last trip and did pay our balance every couple of days. We combined a bunch of cards onto one for this upcoming trip- just didn't know if there was an easier way than that.

Every trip for the past few years I've used gift cards I purchase with my Target Red Card (5% off) to pay for my trip as well as my on-site expenses. I just swing by the front desk every few days and use the gift cards to pay down my balance before it goes on my credit card. One time I missed but they cheerfully reversed the charge on my credit card and I used the gift card instead.

If that's not easy enough, you can always just use the gift card to pay for everything instead of your magic band. I do believe that everywhere that accepts a magic band can accept a gift card.
