Gift suggestions for girls age 8-9

Looking for a $5 gift suggestion for girls between the age of 9-10 - I'm a girl scout troop leader. thank you.

Fabric and ribbbon! - plus scissors, thread, and embroidery needles if possible. You could get lots of fabric remnants, or a couple yards of sale fabric; ribbon is often 5 for $1, a pack of embroidery needles ("real" needles but not as likely to prick as sharps!) can be split up, and you can probably get scissors and sewing kits at a dollar store.
No tech, something they might never have had access to, and something protected kids will perceive as dangerous (needles and scissors!), and as cheap as you want to make it.

Our troop does an exchange each year too, if you have Five Below by you, we have gotten some great things there!

Washers, nail polish, and ribbon. To make washer necklaces. Total cost for maybe 5 washers, would be about 3$ depending on ribbon at dollar stores. My dd8 loves making them, as do all her gs friends

I have 2 Girl scout troops. So far the biggest hit has been fun knee socks. I found them last year at Big Lots but they have been at a lot of different places I've looked.

Crazy Loom rubberbands, my daughters are 8 and 9 and can spend hours making bracelets! rubberbands are $1 a bag everywhere and you can make your own loom, just youtube it.
