Gift shop in Ft Wilderness?

Is there a gift shop actually in Ft Wilderness?? I'm looking for a coon skin cap?? Do they sell such a thing?? Also....anything along the lines of a Pioneer-type stuffed Mickey or Minnie??

Yes they actually have 2 stores inside Fort Wilderness property. And I have seen the coonskin hats there in the past. At one Point they also had Mickey and Minnie in red plaid but recently Disney decided to go general merchandise so I'm not sure what you will find. I was last there in Dec. and really wasn't looking for the specific things you are asking about. There is a rumor that DIsney may bring back resort specific items with so many requests. I'll be back in Oct. if you aren't there before then...I can look and gladly let you know!

they have those hats in the store in canada in epcot...cause i guess we canadians where coon skin hats

You can also buy the coonskin cap in Magic Kingdom - Frontierland.

The hat you can get easily although be aware it isn't real. I think it is polyester or something like that. I had one when i as a kid and it was real skin. I don't know about the mickey and minnie. I don't remember seeing that the last time i was there. There are two stores. One near pioneer hall and the other is called the meadows trading post. Check the map for what color bus you need to get on to stop at the trading post.

This reminds me our last trip to the Fort with all the grandkids! My DGS age 6, was riding around loop 1400 on his bike.. armed with his light saber(he had just finished Jedi Training)..... and sporting his coon skin hat. He was telling anyone that would listen that he was on guard duty till 2 AM and that all would be safe at the Fort. Our camping neighbors remarked how cute he was. DGD, age 9, let everyone know that he wasn't THAT cute and somebody needs to tell him that hat is not real!

I loved mine and if it wasn't for the fact that it fell apart i would be wearing it around today. If they were still real fur i would buy one in a heart beat. IMHO it is a must have for a young kid.
