My neighbor is moving out of state at the end of the school year. She has been a really good neighbor, as we take turns walking the kids to and from school, and watching each other's little ones when we need to. I want to get her something when she moves but am not sure whether I should get a gift for she and her husband, or get little gifts for the three kids, or something for all of them. Any good ideas out there? Thanks!!

Hi Melissa! :)

Just a suggestion...do you scrapbook? If so, maybe you could make them a scrapbook with pictures of them, your family, other neighbors they are friendly with, pictures of familiar things in your area they'd want to remember..etc. Also have other friends and your girls write and/or draw things in it. It would be a great thing for them to take with them. I know people do that for teachers to remember the school year.

Hi Jill,

That is a good idea about the scrapbook. I've never done it myself but maybe it's time to take the plunge!! Now I am wishing I would have taken more pictures of our kids together when they were younger. I do have a couple, first day of school, things like that. But maybe if I went out and just took pictures of the street, the school, the park, etc., I could put something together. Thanks!

Here is another idea. I knew the town where my friend was moving, so I did a little internet research and bought a gift certificate to a restaurant in their area. I told her it was for a relaxing meal while they were getting settled. It was a gift for the adults (didn't have to cook) and the kids, too.
