Gift ideas for new RV owners?

My parents will be flying from New York to California to pick up their new Lazy Daze in March. They are first-time owners and plan on shipping some items out ahead of themselves to "furnish" the RV and they'll purchase some things after they pick it up. What can we buy them for Christmas that they can use? I would love to give them an "RV-themed" gift. Thanks!

Did you know that a AAA membership will cover you while you are driving an RV with the same coverage as your automobile? I called AAA when we got our motorhome and asked. A AAA membership would be nice and they will provide maps and trip planning services.

What about a Road Grill by Coleman? We are on our second and love it.

They are going to need an awning mat. We go through about 1 every three or four years.

Good camp chairs that fold for easy storage.

An enclosed fire pit for places that enforce an open fire ban.

A KOA or Good Sam gift certificate.

If you are looking for something small, they sell RV log books at RV dealers. They are simple books that log your milage, destination, costs, meals etc.

My parents have an Rv and I have bought them , Rv lights to hang outside, a handmade , hand painted sign with thier last name and the state they are from, a personalized liscence plate with my thier name, a sticker map so they can track which states they have visited and a foldable hammock that they can lounge on.. Good luck!

How about sheets. I love my flannels but they are a mite expensive. Find some inexpensive plates, cups, flatware, pots & pans, potato peeler, cutting board, salt & pepper shakers, wire strainer. If you go to the right places they are reasonable and I need to have a set of everything in both the stick house and the RV. Nothing is worse than realizing what you need is in the other kitchen. A small plastic pan and drainboard for washing dishes. A set of towels for the bath and kitchen.

Outdoors you need a comfortable, lightweight chair for each of your parents. I also like a cushion that covers both the seat and the back, it keeps the dampness in the evening away from my back. An indoor/outdoor carpet and a doormat so every piece of dirt on the campsite doesn't end up on the floor of the brand new RV. And if it doesn't come with a vacuum system a lightweight vacuum and dust pan and brush. Extra hoses includng sewer hoses and HEAVY duty electric cords.

Hope I haven't overwhelmed you but those are the things I bought for our 5er. I still find there are things I didn't realize I need but I think I am almost there.

the only thing I will say if if you are looking for plastic plates and stuff, buy the ones from Ikea and not walmart.. we bought the wallyword ones after summer last year and they are cheapy... they are hard to wash and they get all cut up and they get hot in the microwave...

we bought my daughter the kids ikea ones and they are great! I am going there this week to buy some for the camper~

My suggestion is a foldable table for putting up next to the RV for some outdoor crockpotting or whatever! Lazy Daze are nice!
