I am a room parent for my sons kindergarten class and in general like sending in some type of goodie bag for holidays - not just Christmas, I do Halloween, Easter, St. patty's day, Valentines, etc. I was thinking of taking Satin Christmas bulb ornaments
like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mint-Green-Sati...3QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33844QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

not nec. that color but you get the idea. and using glitter to do each childs name & date on an ornament - non breakable so they will make it home! I'm pretty sure all the kids in my sons particular class celebrate Christmas (not definite).

Good idea/Bad Idea? Also some other ideas that per child aren't outrageous as there are 25 kids in his class.

We are buying them all a book for Chrismtas. I would rather my daughter came home with a book than a goody bag full of the junk they give out at birthday parties!

Kdg. teacher here. At AC Moore, they have these darling plastic Christmas ornaments that are filled w/play-doh. They sell pre-packed 2/$1.00. I love giving those to my students. I also give them a book. We have a Scholastic Warehouse in our area and I pick up books at the warehouse sales.

Instead of the ornaments, you could get a snowman, snowflake or mitten tracer/template, some white fun foam (or other color for mitten) and trace, cut out and decorate the snowmen/snowflake/mitten for the kids. That way, even if they don't celebrate Christmas, they can still hang the snowman/snowflake/mitten up somewhere.

Another thing my students love are those activity books (holiday or otherwise). They sell 3/$1 at the Dollar Tree. Add a cute pencil and you've got a great gift!

Good luck!

In the UK we have Christmas Fayres at schools run by the PTA, i work in a school and we decided this years fayre (which was last saturday)to do christmas baubles with names on, we did lots of tests and decided to do use glue to write the name on then dip in glitters and we left themt o dry for a few hours and bagged them up, we made alot of money and the kids loved them! We also put a small picture on the back. Be warned the glitter goes everywhere!

I am giving all the kiddos in DD class Chuck E Cheese coins in a tiny gift box....I may try to set up a play date with her clss mates during the break!!!
