I need to get Christmas presents for a 7-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy. Any suggestions?

They already have Nintendo DSs.

depends on how much you want to spend, But remote controlled cars are always cool. There is also a robot reptile out ( i forget the name) that is really cool. If you are looking for soemthing more along the stocking stuffer line, K Mart has special edition packs of UNO cards that show different sports. ( i have seen wrestling packs, baseball, football, and basketball so far

My son can't get enough Legos. He wants new sets every year for birthday and Christmas. They have sets to go along with almost anything the boys could be interested in, too: planes, police, fire, trains, just tons of stuff. My kids love card and board games, too. Maybe baseball cards and an album to keep them in. Remote control cars was a very good suggestion, too.
When my son was younger (around the 7 year old stage) he loved Rescue Heroes. I don't even know if they still make those, but something similar might be good.
I'm always big on getting my kids something that in not computer, TV, or video game related. Games, puzzles, sports equipment (football, backyard volleyball set, wiffle ball set, etc), painting/drawing supplies, or anything crafty. (I always joke with my kids that I enjoy when they're grounded because they find so much fun stuff to do! LOL)
If you're looking for things with a little bit higher price tag, do a search for Electronic Snap Circuit Set. It's a battery powered snap together set with which they can make a functioning AM radio, lights, a fan, all kinds of stuff. Erector sets are cool, too, and Magnetix or GeoMag sets are neat. And every single year my kids get a book of some kind, whether they want it or not! LOL
I hope I at least gave you some ideas to run with and that you find the perfect gift for them both!
Merry Christmas!

7 Year old: My brother is around this age, and he loves things like those Play-Tv-Games. (around $10 - 15 at Wal*Mart)

12 Year Old: Gift card to his favorite store. (That's what I asked for for Christmas, a Barnes & Noble Gift Card)

Wiis are expensive, like $250 if I remember correctly? If I asked for a Wii, I would get just that for Christmas...When GameCube came out, that was mostly what I got for Christmas, minus what Gramma gave me. :)

Wii's are not expensive! And when that DS extension comes out, they'll have teh ultimate expirence!

The only thing that I thought of was before Wii, Xbox 360, Play Station 3 came out, I always thought of gift cards. Gift cards may seem cheap sometimes, but then they can pick out what they want.

They have a line of toys called "Spy Gadgets" that are various neat little gizmos that all the little guys I know just LOVE! Most are very reasonably priced (some as low as $10) and the more sophisticated ones run up to $70. I have seen them at Target and Toys R Us.

Maybe it's just the cost of living in this area? ;) :confused3:

My nephew is 10 and some of things he really goes crazy over are

building toys - knex, legos, magnetix
remote control anything (you know how guys love the remote control - lol), video games - I tend to stay away from this category because i can never seem to pick the game he wants for a specific platform
Science experiment kits - last year I bought him a kit that made about 5 different kinds of candy like rock candy, gummy candy, gum and a couple other things
He's a Harry Potter Fan so anything HP related - His friend is into Spiderman - so just find out what hero or character they are into and you can't go wrong

Hey Dash!

Well you cant go wrong with an ipod for your 12 year old boy! Ipod's are kinda exspencive though, but ipod's are really cool you can download hundreds of songs! ( This might not be a good idea if your son is not a big music person )

For you 7 year old boy..hmm? Well, I bet he would like some walkie talkies those are allways fun to play with! The cranium games are also a lot of fun! I still love playing those with my family!

Since you already have a nintendo ds you should probally get some more games too :thumbsup2

Merry Christmas :bounce:
Best

In my district, I'm in the rich class. :teeth:

Then again, there are only 481 people....

Well being closer to 12 then 7 the things that intrest me are the Crayola stuff. I know it sounds kinda kiddish but it is just fun.. to color with all the cool markers like the Clickables or Pipsqueaks. For your 7 year old i would say something like the mess free finger painting and coloring. :)

For the older one, if you're willing to spend then I think he'd love an iPod or a digital camera. It all depends on what he's into. For the less expensive items, how about a gift card for West 49, Hollister, or American Eagle?

well 12 year old boys want the wii of course but i would wait till they get an upgrade on them because i have heard on the news they have been falling out of hands and breaking things so i would wait on the WII

Well that's really the person's fault, it comes with a wrist strap...
