I need help with this situation.

Ok, so I have a 18th birthday party to go to next Sunday for the girl. The person isn't really my friend, but a friend of a friend. I met her twice, but we have emailed a few times. I am really really really short on money, and it would and I honestly don't know this person enough to give a gift.

Would it be rude not to bring a gift? My parents say I shouldn't because I don't really know the person and I was probably just invited to make the party look bigger. It's at a decent sized venue, so yeah. Idk, what do you think?

I DO NOT think that an 18-year-old needs a present.

I don't recall presents at any party of any of my friends who turned 18... me included.

Buy this person a couple scratch off lottery tickets! :thumbsup2
