On our first cruise last April our four year old son really engaged with the stateroom host, Clifford. Every time we left or came back to the room he would stand in the hall and ask where Clifford was and we'd usually hear Clifford's booming voice responding to my son from another stateroom he was working in. Our son would then proceed to talk his ear off of five minutes and give him a hug before moving on. On day three as we were returning to our room, Clifford met us in the hallway with a Mickey plush that was as tall as my son. He told us that he's actually the longest standing employee on DCL (was on the maiden voyage of the Magic) and that our son is one of the most memorable kids he's come across. He told us that he went to his manager and told him that he wanted to do something special for him. His manager told him to go into the gift shop and pick out whatever he wanted for our son. After years of feeling like the quality at WDW was dropping, it was so nice to see Disney magic alive and well on DCL!
