What about making a photo book for her--along with whatever else? Include baby photos on up until college or whatever?

Will there be more than one shower? I had several bridal showers (different groups of people and, yes, all were invited to the wedding and all received handwritten thank-you notes ). Anyway, my mother outfitted our bed--at one shower she gave a set of sheets, at another our comforter, another the mattress pad and pillows, etc. We have been married 23 years! I hope your DD has a wonderful marriage!

Does she have a house? You could buy a tree or gardening stuff, patio furniture, something for outdoors?

I've been married almost 24 years, and I still have one gift from my wedding shower that I display on a day to day basis. my mom's friend took the invitation to our wedding and sent it to a company that made a beautiful candle with it. she provided the colors for our wedding which were incorporated into the candle. the idea was we were supposed to light it each year on our anniversary but the candle is so lovely I can't bring myself to melt it. I've often thought that when my kids marry I would like to do the same for them.

I will probably get my daughter something off her registry for around $50 pkus I am paying for a portion of her shower at a restaurant.

My MIL made me a collage photo of my DH from birth through our engagement. I love it

When my Brother married our Mother was out of the picture so I contacted the Brides Mother and asked for an assortment of photos of the bride from birth forward, then I paired the pictures with age similar photos of my brother in a collage and framed it. They love it and it is prominently displayed in their home.
