Gift Cards Question

Is there a way for us to add gifts cards to the app or link them to magic bands to pay for food either QS or TS ahead before our trip begins? With trying to limit contact, this would make sense, but I after a quick search on the app I did not see that option.

I don’t know about the app, but on past trips we charged everything to the room. Then every 2 days or so I would go to the front desk and pay off the balance with gift cards. Hopefully, they are developing something like what you suggest

There is an option to pay with a Disney gift card when you place a mobile order through the app. I’m not sure if you can link it to your account before the trip; I believe you can only do that with a credit/debit card.

You CAN do Mobile Order and pay with a Gift Card (this is a recent upgrade). You will have to enter the number each time you order (hopefully, your phone will save that number and fill it in for you).

You CANNOT link a giftcard to your MDE account. You can only link a debit or credit card to MDE.

So to make sure I understand this correctly, I have a credit card on file, but I can stop at the desk every couple of days and pay my bill with my gift cards before my credit card gets charged. Do they just do one charge at the end of the stay?

Once you reach a limit (not sure if it's been reduced, it's dependent on the type of resort you stay at), the front desk charges. They also put a "hold" of $100 every time the card is charged (at least that's what has been reported in the past)
