On previous trips, I have always went to the front desk to lay down my balance using gift cards before my credit card was charged. In researching for my January trip, I found this response on the Disney mom’s panel page:

Is there a way you can load a gift card to the Disney app to pay for food? I don't want to stand in line, but I don't want my food charged to credit card.”
Here’s a little background on how it works. Any charges made with your MagicBand go back to your Disney Resort hotel bill. After your stay, those charges go directly to the credit card on file. You can call a Resort Reservation Cast Member at (407) 939-1936before your visit and tell them you’d like to add a Disney Gift Card to your Disney Resort hotel bill. At first, the gift card will act as a credit on your account and that credit will be used toward any purchases made with your MagicBand or any other charges made to your room.
After you’ve exhausted your gift card amount, any additional charges will be put on the credit card you have on file.
Has anyone tried this? I’d much rather preload the cards.
