Does anyone recall the address for the website that you can sell or trade gift cards at? I have a $10 Starbucks GC, and we don't have a Starbucks anywhere around here. I think I remember reading about the website once.
Not a Starbucks in sight around here either! When we went to DC on a vacation my children were bewildered...there was a Starbucks on every corner. They wondered why people in the capital needed so much more coffee than regular citizens!
I was just browsing that site. It seems like most of the GCs for sale are being sold for face value or slightly under face value - no big savings. Why would anyone go there to buy a $25 GC for $24? Once you pay postage, you haven't gained anything? I don't get it.
Can anyone explain this? If I want a Best Buy card, for example, why not just go to Best Buy? Why take a chance bidding on ebay, paying postage and hoping that the person doesn't rip me off?
Now I have bought Marriott Bonus Bucks coupons on ebay recently but they only sell for about 20% of face value which I thought was a great deal. So our next hotel stay we will pay $50 worth of the bill with a cert. that only cost me $13. That makes sense. The other stuff does not.
Steve you got me thinking and I went over to ebay to see...since we are MVC owners. I saw they have Pound certificates, have you ever heard of those? It seems they can be used for double the value?? Any help would be appreciated...thanks!
