Gift Card question

Hi! I've been collecting gift cards and have them consolidated onto one which I wanted to use to pay for our food and incidentals charged to our room. Can I set that card up at check in st the desk (online check in wouldn't let me) to be charged instead of my credit card or do I have to go down there every few days and pay balance off with the gc? Thanks!

Seems to depend on the resort or the person manning the front desk. At Pop a couple years ago I was able to add them to my room account at checkin and they only charged my card on the last night for the outstanding. But even at that time some people were told they couldn't add gift cards before there were charges so they had to make a charge and then go back to add gift cards. I recently read a couple reports of the same still happening, so you'll just have to ask at checkin and see what you get.

My experience was that I had to wait until I purchased before I could use the gift card to pay it off. I would just stop by the front desk at the end of each night since we were walking by it anyway and pay off whatever my current balance was.

No. And I stop by the front desk each night to prevent having to go through a please reverse the charge to my credit card scenario.

Gift cards cannot be linked to your room reservation.
It has to be a credit card.
So you'd have to go down every few days to pay off the charges before they go on your credit card or what I suggest is just bring the gift card to the parks and use it.

As others have stated, you can't link a gift card to your account for charging purchases to your room.
