Gift card for referring new members?

I referred a friend to DVC, and she bought 270 points. In the past, I would get a 200 gift card for referrals.

This time I got a post card! Gee thanks! LOL!!!

I looked on DVC website, and it still says you can get the gift card.

I left a message for my guide, Guide's name removed 2 weeks ago, and haven't received a call back. Anyone know who I can contact?

I want my gift card! Grrr!!!

Did your friends close already? I think you have to until after closing... Also check on the DVC website under sharing the magic... your "reward" should show up there...

They closed a couple months ago. They already have a trip booked! LOL!!

Nothing showing up on DVC website, which is why I called my guide (she's the one who sold them the points). Annoyed that she won't call me back.

Funny thing is I'm going to be buying more points soon. Going to see if I can switch guides before I do so though! It's only $200...but I want it! LOL!!!

Good luck. I referred 5 people to take the DVC "Phone Tour" a year ago. In return, I was supposed to receive a $25 gift card for each referral whether they purchased or not. Both myself and my referrals were all supposed to receive the gift card in return for them taking the tour. When the gift cards were never sent to any of us, I tried to call my guide several times but no calls were ever returned. I also sent e-mails which never received a reply. My referrals also made follow up phone calls which were never returned. Needless to say, I always did my add ons through resale as a result of poor customer service.

I would call more frequently. And I would let her know that you're interested in purchasing more points but not until you receive your gift card. Amazing what a potential sale will motivate them to do.

i did the dvc phone tour last week before i decided to buy resale. i just got my $25 gift card Monday. i didnt even know it was coming.

When we bouught points last year we gave our guide the names of our friends as referrals. We wanted to make sure there were not any issues or problems so we didn't even tell them that we used their name (or that we even purchased points). Once we closed I beleive they got an e-mail a month or so later saying they had the option to choose a gift card, take a credit towards maintenace fees or a visa gift card. They were surprised and happy. Hope it works out for you!

We got both a thank you letter (or postcard) and notification that we had a referral credit; I then went online to choose how I wanted to receive it.

Is the friend in the same state as you? If not, are they in a state where the GC referral can't be given?

My friend got $200 for referring us which he then gave to us. We closed in October and he gave me the $200 in December. We live in the same state though.

It can take a long time before you get your gift. I had the same issue 2 year ago. Finally it was post to my account online.

If I remember correctly, it's about 90 days after closing. Keep us posted.

We also received a postcard thanking us when we referred a friend last year but the referral gift was never mentioned, and the referral credit never showed up on our DVC account. So, we had to call several times to "remind" our guide. Apparently, he "forgot" to give us the credit. We received our gift card a few months later.

I can't stand our guide and will never use him again!

My niece and her husband bought several months ago and used our names as members. We received an email from our guide after their closing and a letter with the choice of reward. I filled it out online and got my Disney gift card several weeks later.
