I know this has been talked about before but I can't find the thread...

who do I contact if I want to get a special gift basket put in our room before check in? my fiance LOVES rice crispie treats so I wanted to do a basket for him using them in some creative way if it's possible..... and maybe get one for my mom and dad and sister as well.

thanks everyone!

also, if there is a website I could look at, that would be even better!

thanks! just for curiosities sake though... does anyone know of any other companies that do the welcome baskets besides just disney?

Disney Florist does a great job! It's a little expensive but I think it was worth it!

www.giftsofalifetime.com also delivers gift baskets to the Disney resorts. Please be aware that there is no guarantee (even by the Disney Florist) that your gift basket will be in your room when you arrive. All gift baskets and floral arrangements are delivered to the front desk of the resort. It is up to the resort to deliver the merchandise. If the room has not been pre-assigned or if they are busy, they may deliver after you check in.

ooh, that's the one I was looking for.. gifts of a lifetime! thanks everyone... disney's baskets are VERY pricey... but I don't think I'll be able to get anything too much cheaper anyway.

thanks again! I can't wait to surprise DF with a basket and my folks!

I can't seem to get the Memories By Sarah link to work. Anyone having the same issue?

I just tried it and cannot get it to work either :confused3 I did a search that said she is supposed to be out of town until the 25th (yesterday) and that person had received a reply. Her baskets are really cute.

Feralpeg: Are you out of the basket business. I used you once and was very please with our candy creations! :thumbsup2

I am not selling baskets at this time. Unfortunately, the state of Florida has decided that it will not allow gift basket businesses who use any food products (including pre-package things like candy bars, popcorn, etc.) to operate out of a home. I've been talking with a lawyer trying to see if there is any way around it. I'd like to go back to making baskets, but just wouldn't have enough volume to allow me to rent a location that meets all of the health department regulations. Gift basket companies are considered mobile venders and subject to the same health codes as restaurants. Since most of my past customers were very interested in food items, this makes it very difficult. Non-food items tend to be so expensive, it pretty much makes other types of gift baskets cost prohibitive. Sorry!

UGH!! I know what you mean about those laws. I have a culinary degree and worked in the professional kitchen for many years, but now I am a SAHM..I would love to be able to do some cooking for profit out of my home...the laws won't allow it without a health inspection and separate kitchen. I understand the lawsuits and such, but I am very disappointed. Who knew they would also be talking about things like pre-packaged basket food...that seems extreme to me!

Disneyflorist has done a great job on gift baskets for me in the past. Yes although they are pretty pricey- the end result is usually worth it (to me at least) I had sent one of their bastkets that had Rosa Regale, a mickey cutting board alont with other things to my parents on their Anniversary - and they were floored by it!
