Gift Baskets by Shirley!!! We need ideas and pictures!!!

I am bumping this thread up just in case someone needs to order gift baskets for their cruise.

How far in advance can we order? I see people ordering on fairly short notice, but I'm an anal-retentive-type-A planner...I can't possibly wait until 4 days out to place my order, lol. On the other hand, I realize ordering too far out could cause problems. Shirley, what's your ideal order time?

Here's one we ordered from Shirley for our cruise from June 13th for my DD. We got the sand bucket and the pirate and princess stuff. She loved it as usual!!

The Halloween pails are a speciality for they are really dressed up for the season. They have all Halloween stuff in it and the pails have eyes, ears and nose that are attached to the sand pail and they can be used for the beach, for trick or treating. They are called the "Monster Smash" - last year the kids really got a kick out them - we did the same for Christmas, Easter so the kids would feel extra special since we are the only ones that offer them.

I know someone posted pictures of them somewhere on the disboard, but don't remember the thread. If I find it, will post it.

I have to chuckle since, as I was reading this thread, I was going to suggest that.

So many people ask, "What can we do for our room steward?" Ordering a basket from Shirley and telling her that, ultimately, you are going to give it to your room person, or table server, or whomever, will help her tailor a gift for the crew person(s) in mind AND it saves you the hassle of bringing something on board or do shopping.

It's a great way to say to the cast members, "You did a GREAT job and I appreciate you!"

Just keep in mind that the CM's have VERY limited room to put things, so chances are if it's not edible it will eventually end up in the garbage since there's no room to store even small things.

We've sent one of Shirley's wonderful baskets to our favorite crew member (Tito, who works are what my daughter likes to call "The Disney Store" on the ship). Shirley did up a terrific edible basket, for which Tito was very thankful for. I agree that you definitely want to go "edible" due to the lack of space the crew have. I think a basket from Shirley is a great idea for a crew member - her baskets are great and the crew member will really appreciate it!

I have a couple of things I wanted to say - first crew member's gift baskets - my BIGGEST suggestions is there is a place in the mall that these young folks visit very often for it offers so much of their homeland there and one of the things I do know for sure that they love gift cards from this place - I don't remember the name since I am at home and the info is at work so will post it when I get there.
Second I don't know of a crew member that rather have monies than gift baskets - their rooms are small and you can eat so much fruit or candies.
NOW THIS IS JUST A SUGGESTION FOR CREW MEMBERS OK?

gift baskets can be made of any theme if there is enough time and if we can't get it, we tell that our customers that they are allowed to send several items to make it more personalable and it does save monies for you.
Third we do try to keep our gift baskets reasonable even though everything has gone up so much for everyone.

I did! Shirley made a very nice "bag" of Bears, White Sox & Blackhawks items for my husband's birthday. He was very surprised and pleased. I also had her include his favortie candy, snacks and Pepsi.

Thanks so much for the ideas...I actually asked about the baskets for crew members cause I have a daughter on board with a birthday coming..I wasn't sure if we were allowed to send baskets to crew on board.....I 've sent her a gift but it's her 21st and want to make it extra special since her folks can't be there.....a basket would be such a surprise! Her birthday's the end of the month. I don't think they're allowed to have fruit in their rooms, not sure but she loves candy and trinkets and Disney Characters and drinkables..haha, but I'll give Shirley's a call soon. One of the things I wanted to mention to you about your daughter - you are most welcomed to send me a couple of items down to me so that it will be more personable and I don't charge anything to include them in the baskets.
