On our last trip I put a few small things together for the plane ride to DLR. It was pretty easy to come up with a few inexpensive surprises for our kiddos, then 5,6 & 8. It was pretty much like a party favor gift bag mostly made up of dollar store items that were Disney themed. This trip the kids will be 9, 10 & 13. I am wondering what in the world to give my 13 yo??? :confused3: I know he will feel left out if his little brothers get something & he doesn't but I know stickers & activity pads, etc. won't interest him much this time around. So far I have come up with CANDY (of course), maybe some silly puddy? I am really at a loss. Ideas welcome! Disney-themed would be a plus but not completely mandatory :thumbsup2

Rubik'a Cube
Book
Ear buds for listening to music on plane

It can be tough to find small inexpensive things for teens!

The only things I can think of off hand are the cheap hand held video games, such as solitare, soduku, tetris, etc. If he has a portable gaming system, such as Nintendo, pick up a new game for it. I've got an child almost as old, and it can be a challenge to find gifts for him. Perhaps a book of crosswords or search a words??

Since you didn't mention it, I assume electronic devices are out of the equation?

My boys are now 17 and 20 and we've been going to DL since 2008. To this day they still occupy themselves with their ancient Nintedo DS's on trips. Nothing better than some coop Mario Karts to pass the time.

Even a cheap Android Tablet would keep him occupied for hours with all the free games available.

If you don't like video games maybe pick up a non-paperwhite Kindle and load up some good books for him? I thought I saw them on sale for $49 and there are lots of good free books available for that as well. (www.freereadfeed.com)

Definitely put in some favorite snacks. Maybe a baseball cap or a knit cap he can wear on the trip? Earbuds for his phone or iPod? Since he's the oldest, maybe get him a Disney gift card so he can choose and buy some of his own snacks or souvenirs on the trip.

He does have an iPod touch. I had thought about downloading a few new games on there for him on the downlow. I also like the idea of a rubix cube! Maybe I can find a keychain one for him. I am mostly trying to stick to small items, just little tokens to enhance the "magic". All the kids will definitely get a gift card to spend in the park :) Thanks everyone!!
