I have always wanted to try a Gideon's cookie, but I have no interest in waiting a long time for one at Disney Springs.

This year, we are going to Cocoa Beach for one night (we love it there) to have dinner at our favorite restaurant, and to enjoy looking out at the ocean. Before we drive to Cocoa Beach we are going to the Gideon's Bakehouse that is not in Disney Springs, so their other location, which is 23 minutes from MCO. We are then going to take our cookies and go eat them while listening to the ocean (what a peaceful sound that is).

For those that have had a Gideon's cookie(s) 🍪, give me your recommendations on what is a must have and what is a must stay away from.

Me and my family thank you!

I am big fan of the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip - that's my favorite of the regular menu. They do have seasonal choices too that can be good. Honestly, any that I have had have been great, other than the one with espresso in it because I don't care for coffee.

I would at least try a chocolate chip and either the peanut butter crunch or triple chocolate, plus one of two of the cookies of the month.

I like a basic chocolate chip. They do a great one.

Curious . . . What is your favorite restaurant in Cocoa Beach? I will be over there later this month and always looking for new suggestions when it comes to dining.

I agree. We got different ones and all agreed the Original was the best

I don’t love chocolate chips, so we strongly prefer the pistachio toffee chocolate chip one because it has more a complex flavor profile and not just the chocolate chips. If you’re there on a Weds (or preorder at least 6 of any cookies at least 3 days ahead of time), the candied walnut one is great. The cookies and cream is an amazing upgrade to a standard Oreo.

We really love that Cocoa Beach area and I would love to retire there in the future. There’s a few areas close to Cocoa Beach we’d consider looking at where Cocoa Beach is about 20 minutes away. I keep an ongoing list of places we enjoy when we go there of which I posted below.

Coconuts On The Beach is our favorite and that’s where we’ll be Saturday night.

Grills is our favorite on a launch night. They have a nice viewing area that you can watch the launch from. Just tell your server you’ll be going out for the launch so they know you’re returning back to your table.

There’s a Squid Lips in Cocoa Beach, but the Melbourne one is better. The outside dining is on the beach and you do not have to wait. Just say you’re going to the bar and when you see a beach table become empty, then go ahead and grab it.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a PM 🙂

Thank you to those that gave their suggestions :thanks:

We just got them for the 1st time last month. I loved the banana chocolate chip one and my husband loved the cookies and cream.

I have been to Coconuts and Grills, but will have to look into the others. We have a tendency to get in a rut and go to the same places over and over. We like Thai Thai III and Zarrella’s in Cape Canaveral, DeLorenzo’s in Cape Canaveral for delivery pizza, Azteca II in Cocoa Beach for Mexican, and Tely’s in Melbourne for Chinese. The owners of Tely’s used to operate a restaurant in Cocoa Beach across from Coconuts but moved to Melbourne a few years ago.

Thanks! We're in east St. Cloud, and go to Melbourne/Cocoa Beach fairly regularly. Saturday for DH's birthday we're going to the Kennedy Space Center and then dinner at The Fat Snook.

We've been to Djon's -- nice, but pretty snazzy, not exactly beachside. I'll definitely have to try your suggestions!

That's my favorite too! I just had part of one last night-the last part of one from my January trip. I cut them into pieces and freeze them when I get home. I also liked the coffee cake (I think that's what it's called). I also had one that supposedly had banana in it, but I couldn't get any banana taste.

I think Gideon’s cookies are more like brownies. Will be interested to hear what you think! I prefer their cakes and coffee. Have fun!

I have a tendency to get their seasonal ones. If you happen to go during their hot cookie hour that is the special with ice cream that comes with the original. I find the original too much but maybe with the ice cream would help a lot. For any I get I do get multiple servings out of each. No way I'm eating all at once. I do like their cake slices more than the cookies so I always get at least one of both. I only just started trying their drinks but found the cold brew great.

PSA - don't do what I did and think, if I just heated this cookie up in the microwave like I do chocolate chip cookies, that would be next level. Nope. It kinda dried them out. So disappointing.
