Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop - soft-opening on June 1

Yay thanks for this. I can tell only having two days in June is NOT going to be enough to experience all the new stuff. We only have one day at each park. EEK!

LOVE Ghiradelli though. We live near SF and try to stop everytime we go and same with the one in DTD at Disneyworld.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but that looks exactly like the one handed out at their shop in SF. I am so excited!!!!! :cool1: I love their warm brownie sundaes like no other.

I wonder if they will also be selling candy as well? That would be good (and slightly dangerous to the waistline :rolleyes1).

Looks very similar, if not exact.

Looks like the menu from WDW DD.

I'm so happy that some new things are open for this weekend. Can't wait to check out Mad T Party! :thumbsup2

Thanks. Doesn't look like they have old fashioned sodas. Sigh. And I know it would throw them to ask for something off menu that they haven't been trained to make.

Well not surprised its open for guest now. As I said here just yesterday, if they were letting CMs in, then it was obvious guest would be allowed in soon as well! I mean we are talking $$$ here, so the sooner, the better! ;)

And its cool that things are slowly rolling out! Now people have the Mad T Party, Ghirardelli opening and the Pixar parade will soft open today, so the few in the park today will have a chance to see that as well! And thats only the light stuff! I imagine next week a few other things may open early that isnt a part of CL or BVS! But yes, exciting times! :)

My daughter just texted me that she was just there and had a peanut butter sundae. She said it was good but had a lot of peanut butter. :sunny:

Is it me or does their "earthquake" remind you of The Kitchen Sink (ingredients) at Beaches & Cream at WDW?

Is there an AP discount here?

Is it wrong I want to eat breakfast here? Chocolate filled croisant & Latte? Yes please.

I was guessing Ghirardelli would be grouped with the other places that don't give AP discount like Gibson Girl, the cone shop, Mint Julep Bar... Sure would be nice if I'm wrong.

My $8.95 "Strike It Rich" Sundae was a net $7.61 with my Annual Pass Discount.

Two minutes later it was ready.....
:thumbsup2

All I can say is ..... I WILL HAVE THAT ONE.... AND THAT ONE.... AND THAT ONE .... OOOOHH AND THAT ONE... MMMMM THAT ONE LOOKS GOOD! SO DOES THAT ONE. YUP! YES PLEASE! No California screaming or TOT for me after this but man oh man will this be worth every bite!

I agree. Looking at this menu, I could easily slurp down a hundred dollar bill here if I didn't restrain myself.

Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to checking it out when I return to DLR next year! I wonder if the sundaes will be as large as the ones at the SF fountain shop? My boyfriend and I split the Mint Bliss sundae once, and that sucker was HUGE! The two of us couldn't even finish it! :scared1:

I was there yesterday. Had no clue it would be open. Had the Peanut Butter Sundae. It was good. Just as good when I go to SF. Only difference between DCA and SF is I got a 15% discount with my Premier Pass. Oh no factory tour. The wall behind where your yummy treats are made is really neatly animated.

Sooo happy they are doing the AP discounts! $9 for a sundae is a little bit pricey, but $7.50 for it will take the sting out of it a little lol.
