Joan, that's sooo funny. Our trip starts 3 weeks from tomorrow and I was thinking about the same thing.

I hate staying in SSR because Ghiradelli's is soo close.

Hi, Thanks for the Feb.1st answer,we will be at WDW till the 27th so this seems RIGHT to me! Jenny, We have only stayed at SSR once (the first summer it was open) I loved the view of DTD and the closeness! I am hoping to stay there again, now that it is more developed. Joan

Thanks for starting this thread! Could someone enlighten me on this coupon? I've read trip reports where people said they used their "2 for 1" coupon, but I can't find out anything about it. Please tell me! We're staying at POFQ and will be taking the boat to DTD a couple of times.

I hope you all get a better sundae than we did. We used our 2-for-1 coupon a couple weeks ago, and there was barely any hot fudge in either of our sundaes. Don't know if they skimped because we were using coupons, but if we had been paying full price for those we would have felt ripped off.

Don't sign up for the Ghirardelli G-Mail and coupon until about a week before you leave. I am almost certain that it's only good for 2 WEEKS from the time you get the coupon in your email!! It's Buy one get one free sundane AND if you are a DVC memeber you can use your discount too! We did..although it may have changed since July. You can use your DH or DD's email too and get a few more coupons as well. To get the coupon..go to the www.ghirardelli.com and click to sign up for G-Mail (near the bottom somewhere) when asked if you live within 50 miles of a Ghirardelli soda shop click YES!!! You will be emailed a coupon in a day or two. Yo HAVE to click YES otherwise you will get some other coupon (and it's not a for a BOGO sundae!)

They also send BOGO Free birthday coupons so make sure to add a birthday in there. HTH

I can tell you from experience that the coupon for "more than 50 miles" is for 10% off an online order. BOO!

I will have to remember to go back on and put in other e-mail addresses so we can get some free ice cream!

Our coupon was good for 30 days, not two weeks. And I ordered it last month.

Yep, I think it is good for 30 days. I had signed up 2 weeks before and got my coupon wanting to have enough time to use it while we were down there. So I was thinking it was only good for 2 weeks when it is really 30 days. Sorry about that!

I've heard that they have asked for ID before. I used mine in the summer and there was a line out the door, so they didn't bother to ask for an ID since it was really, really busy.

I, too, was asked for my picture ID when I used my Ghiradelli coupon last May. Just just be prepared, especially if you sign up for the coupon in a child's name.

are there other things to snack on besides ice cream at ghiradelli's? ds and dh would use the coupon but i don't eat ice cream unless i am at home for the fact of that old saying " i like( in this case) ice cream but it doesn't like me".....tmi i know, lol.

We just used a coupon a few days ago. It was in my sister's name and she wasn't with us. They didn't ask for ID. My mom and I shared the sundae and we did notice that the seemed to be a little skimpy on the fudge. Could have used some on the bottom of the glass. I believe our coupon was good for a month.

but did not have any on me (my wife had it outside) so than they asked for the name on the certificate. I think they are cracking down on the coupons being abused. It was a nice coupon and they were great!

More than likely, you should get it later today or maybe tomorrow. I've had 3 coupons in the past and got them within 2 days.

Take my advice and don't sit *outside* Ghiradellis - this might sound trivial (and I guess it is really ) but I swear the sound of their metal chairs scraping off the concrete was enough to make us eat up fast and leave a.s.a.p. --- think sharp finger-nails scraping off a chalk-board amplified by 10. Not kidding! Anyone else notice this?
