GH question

for all those watching GH recently...
I have just turned it on again after avoiding it for the last few months...

but who is the guy that is kind of holding Nicholas hostage and why ?
and why is he involving Robin in this scheme ?

The is a lot of info on the GH thread here on the boards.

Anyway, his name is Mr. Craig. He was the mastermind behing the hostage crisis at the hotel. He was after a breifcase that Alcazar had in the hotel safe. Of course, this being Port Charles, the safe was state of the art. Yadda Yadda Yadda, there was a hostage thing and Mr. Craig shot Robin. The whole thing lasted a couple weeks TV time, but only 12 hours in GH time.

Well, they showed Robin cleaning his wound? So, I think in the beginning it was a medical thing.

Nik offered him $$$ during the hostage crisis to let everyone go (so did Sonny). Needing resources, Mr. Craig poisoned him and threatened to kill fam and friends as blackmail to get a new identity using the Cassadine $$$$. As far as I know, it's not about the briefcase but I haven't seen it since last Wednesday and I fast forward a lot.

I don't want to add to your confusion, but I sort of feel like they left the whole briefcase thing up in the air. Who knows what the heck it was.
