GGRRR! Windshield wiper rant

Is it just me or do windshield wipers last just a few weeks before they start chattering and squeaking and being completely annoying. I was in the car most of the day today and it never stopped raining. I have a stiff neck from being tense because if I didn't want so much noise, I had to put them on long delay so there was enough water on the windshield so they wouldn't drive me crazy. Sorry......venting

I've had our family van for 8 years now and that has always been my biggest complaint......the wipers!!! On one road trip we even had one literally fly off in the middle of a torrential rain and scratch the window!!!

At last I know I'm not the only one in the world with this pet peeve! It drives me bonkers when there isn't enough water on the windshield to keep the wipers from squeeking. Sometimes even leaving them on long delay isn't long enough! I end up having to turn them off until there's plenty of water and then I turn them back on for one swipe.

So funny that you should post this tonight. I just got home from work and it is raining steadily. Well, 1/2 way home the drivers side wiper broke. If I put it on, the metal was scraping the window. The rubber blade split and is now flapping in the breeze. One more thing to add to my list of things to do tomorrow.
