My DH a few years ago told me as soon as GFgoes on sale we will buy ... Saw the 145 per points fir already members prices
And now I am the one with cold ( let s say warm ) feet
As much as I love GF the thing that is worrying me even more ( I was sure it would be pricey and I can live wuth that ) is will we be able to get reservations ( being members ) even on a 11 month window
if a take for instance BCV even as members if you don t book on the 11 month almost to the day well you are in no luck

What do you think those buying who those who already bought yesterday are you scared about that fact ( difficulty in getting your vacations date ??? )

I'm not buying 100%, DH and I are still considering an add on, we own 170 at BLT. But I'm not worried about availability. We go at off times and really haven't had much trouble if we're on the ball about the 7 month window. We got beach club for 7 nights during food and wine at the 7 month window. I'm sure in the beginning it'll be difficult at the 7 month as everyone wants to try GF, but I don't think it'll be a problem at 11. Maybe I naively trust Disney too much .

I would be shocked if VGF owners couldn't get what they wanted at 11 months.

Try not to be worried about 2013 - not all of the rooms belong to DVC yet and non-owners are very interested in booking there to "try it out". A lot of the "panic" you may be seeing is associated with that and the shortened booking windows for this year. I'm betting the special launch booking windows will pretty much make sure owners get what they want in 2013. You could even make getting what you want this year part of your purchase.

FWIW, there are many times of the year that BCV is available at 7 months. October & November during Food & Wine and December can be a challenge at 7 months, but even then, it is rare to hear about someone who couldn't get into BCV if they booked during the home resort priority.

If you don't think you can or will book the VGF more than 7 months in advance, then you should not buy there - it's too expensive to use mostly at 7 months. But if you plan to book during the home resort priority period, I wouldn't let worry about availability stop me from buying.

I think if you own VGF you will be fine booking at the 11 month window. You may have to be on top of making your reservations for the busier times (like F&W, Christmas, etc...), those times might be tougher. You can also buy a fixed week at VGF that only costs 10% more in points. For example, I would pick a week during F&W (say a week in October) and would pick a standard view studio...takes 125 points so we'd have to buy 137 points and we'd get that week guaranteed every year (still have option of opting out of your fixed week and using your 137 points to book whatever).

I think the only issue that may arise, is what type of accommodation your looking for. Always difficult to get Grand villa's with a specific view, because there aren't that many of them. If your flexible with the view, you shouldn't have an issue. When I travel there over Christmas, I am sure to get online at 8:00am and book right as my window opens.

I don't know when you're trying to book, but I've never had an issue getting what I want at BCV and I'm an owner there. Never.

Unless you're talking about Food and Wine, but I've never been on there the day of, and I've never had an issue.

So I'm not sure why you're having such a problem.

I don't think owners will have an issue getting what they want unless you want one of the Grand Villas at a prime time. That is the only reason I can see where you'd have some difficulty, and ONLY if you waited past the 11 month mark.
