Hi

We're getting a GFS store near us this fall. What are the good deals and items to get from them? Anything to avoid?

Nothing in my opinion. I don't care for GFS and I don't find them a lot cheaper either. I did go over for fruit and veggies trays once and both were rotten.

Big potato chip, tortilla chip and pretzel bags
Frozen stuffed cabbage (really good)
Large packages of pita bread (the kind that you can fry like from a restaurant)
Box of small portioned steaks
Bosco sticks

They put out an ad weekly I think and there is a $5 off $50 coupon, not great but it can add up. Look for specials. Sometimes they have samples so you can try stuff. We tried 3 different kinds of potato salad and they have a grandmas one that was quite good

We love the pulled pork. It's great for a group and is delicious as is, also a great price
The Chocolate peanutbutter brownie is excellent, but a little pricier
The frozen white chicken chili is awesome, the longer you cook it the better so it's nice for a longer gathering
