Just returned from 6 nights at our favorite resort(5th overall) and the Gf did not disappoint. Stayed at Poly in April-very nice, but vey happy to have returned "home".

we stayed in a renovated room MK view Boca Chica. Nice as always(DW did not like the new decor as much as the old alice theming). A couple of loose ends from the renovations whick I reported and were repaired before we returned from our first day at the parks.

To each his own, but we just think for location, dining, etc. the GF can not be beat. If it is in the budget I would definetly try the GF and if you are on the fence about returning, because of mixed reviews, in my opinion you have nothing to worry about . I would be happy to comment on any Gf matters. thanks

We are headed there on october 27th! What was the new decor like?

Thanks for the good report!:thumbsup2 We go on the 26th and have a SL reservation. Other posters have reported it closed for rehab, did you see anything going on there?

I'm sure my wife could describe it better, but I'll try.

Of course, same room configuration, except now w/ flat screen tv's over the dresser. Wallpaper, carpet and linens muted creams, and other light colors with small mickeys, goofies, etc on wallpaper. Also, refrigerator now under bureau(wher mini bar would be), this may not be a change I cant remember when they stopped putting refrig. under sinks in vanity area. New 'bump out" showercurtains which allow for more shoulder room.

Sorry no pictures. but I thought very nice.

SL seemed to be closed in its entirety(not for sure) with much visible activity-workers on decks, furniture, carpet, etc. being removed. Do'nt know the actual status.

Here is hoping for a longer than expected rehab with a nice upgrade to the main building! :wizard:

Thanks for the report and glad you had a great time! GF is our absolute favorite,also!:cloud9: We'll be back there at RPC in December and can't wait!:cheer2:

Thanks for the reply, we are so excited to be heading "home"!

My gf and I are going to be staying at GF Nov. 16th for 5 nights. I'm glad to hear about all the new rehabs. In my 8 trips to wdw I have only had the pleasure of staying at Contemp, and the Bwalk. I am really looking forward to the trip and seeing what GF has to offer during the holiday season! I plan to propose to my gf during the trip as well. Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the great report!

Didn't realize Boca Chica was completed. That's good news.

I love that place!:goodvibes Going back in just about a month.:cool1:

Love GF and Boca Chica is my favorite location - especially the far end near Narcoossee's.

Looking forward to a December 2008 visit:) Have not yet decided which view....where was your room located in Boca Chica, please?

Am not crazy about the side that is only lagoon view as trees can block the view. Thanks...

...and thanks for the review :)

We actually booked MK view, which I believe is a relatively new option. I had requested conch building, which has a direct ahead mk view(we had prior and loved it). There was no availability for conch at check-in, nor sago(my fall back request). Not sure if main building is all concierge and/or has many MK views.

We discussed at length the best Mk available with cast member and got boca chica 8527 (5th floor 2/3 down lagoon side looking towards MK). Not a direct head on view, but a slight look left, and unobstructed for fireworks, etc.)Lower floors on this side would likely be atleast partially obstructed by trees and not offer a true mk view.

In my opinion if paying for lagoon view and receiving or requesting MK, this would be ok. But, if paying for MK boca chica is not really a fair MK view. Try to get conch or sago. Have a great trip.

Thanks!

Our favorite room was a garden view at the end of Boca Chica - we could see the monorail, MK Train sta, MK water lauch docks and fantastic fireworks view. We had the last room on the end facing Narcoossee's - which is why it was a garden view.

We saw the views from rooms further down the hall (one was corner room with 2 balconies) and those views were magnificent!

Will be sure to request your suggestions if we book an MK view.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for posting this. We're going in less than 2 weeks and paid for MK view, requested Conch Key, 4th floor (made ressies over a year ago). The category is now called Theme Park view. We'll be very upset not to get a MK view if we're paying for it. We don't want another dormer room (cute, but once is enough) and we're not crazy about Sago Key (too remote for our taste). You're right about the trees in front of Boca Chica -- why don't they just cut them down?

The Conch Key, 4th floor, Park view rooms are all dormer rooms, FYI.

Do not like those dormer rooms..too dark with that privacy balcony...good to know about Conch Key!
Thanks!

Any photos?

Photos from our stay at Boca @ GF (9/29-10/7). Not sure if this is a remodeled room or not -
