We're going to be staying at GF concierge in the main building in Sept 2005, 26th onwards. What is the likelihood of getting a castle view and do I need to request this in advance or wail until check in?
Thanks

We stayed in a Honeymoon Suite for our stay at the GF (RPC) and we requested a castle view. Needless to say, when we checked into our room, we had a castle view-- but you had to sit on the floor of the balcony to see the castle, as 3 big trees blocked the view--
Our room was right above Gasparilla Gasparilla Grill and Games and we could see the Monorail pulling into Magic Kingdom..

We just had to laugh at the view/ b/c essentially we recieved what we asked for. But all in all was a very nice room and view! :)
I would recommend requesting that as your firest request, if that is a priority to you and also mention to RPC planning staff!

The standard concierge rooms that have a castle view are on the 3rd and 4th floor. We stayed in room 4404 on one of our trips and the view was incredible. I also liked it because there was no one above us. That wing of the resort only goes to the 4th floor. It's a bit of a walk though to the concierge lounge and the main elevators, but that made for very little hallway noise. There's a back elevator there that brings you down to an alcove located next to Gasparilla's Grille.

Put in a request with your concierge pre-planner, but as Renee mentioned, list your requests by priority.

Hi Tammi,

We just got our letter from GF re: the conceirge planning. Is it too early to call and request a room view? (And our dinning too or just still w/ WDW-Dine for PS)

Also, you may have mentioned it to me before, I lost the post, DH and I are smokers :( what floor/view you think they'll be able to give us? (We'll be at SL, not RP)...THANKS!!! :teeth:

It never hurts to put those room requests in as early as possible.

As for the PS, I would definately let Concierge Planning do it for you. That is one of the (in my mind BIG) perks of going concierge.

The can do a great job of getting you just about every PS at the time you want.
They can also help you some special hard to get things, like a fireworks cruise for either Wishes or Illuminations.
And they can help you in planning if you want to arrange like spa treatments or in room dinning.

Have fun!

That's great that you got something from them. It just seems to be hit or miss. It's definitely not too early to contact them as you're pretty close to the 90 day mark for ps anyway. What they will do is take your requests and follow up when the window for dining reservations open up. They'll also take care of any spa appointments, entertainment tickets, private dining requests, etc. You can call or e-mail them. For whatever reason, I've always found it easier to communicate with them via e-mail. I never had much luck with talking to a live person, mostly just phone tag through the answering machines.

I don't know if SugarLoaf has a floor dedicated to smoking optional rooms or just a certain wing area set aside. I'm sure someone in the pre-planning department will be able to answer that for you. Your view choices in SL are marina or garden/courtyard pool. We've stayed there twice and both times had the marina view. It's kind of cool because you can hear the sounds from the MK like the whistle from the train or the steamboat and sometimes even the howling wolf from the Haunted Mansion.

Let me know if you need their e-mail address.

GoofyJoofy & Tammi,

THANKS for the tip. I just ordered the MVMCP tix through CRO, that's all I did for now...now I know to get all other PS through GF's conceirge service. I guess, I'm not used to the service, I always just planned and made ressies myself.

I think their email address is on that letter, I'm gonna go home and check it out again later. I hope it's not too early for PS, and my requests...

THANKS AGAIN!!! I'm so excited! :hyper:

Service is what concierge is ALL about.
With about a week before our upcoming trip, we need to change 4 of our PS. We had to add another adult, change times, even change from a lunch to a breakfast.

I emailed concierge around 10 PM, by 8:15 the next morning it had ALL been arranged, just as we wanted. I had planned on calling, figuring that we could not get the times we requested, so I was going to find out what was available and make a selection. Well no need, they were able to do it.

So don't think it is too late. The concierge staff seems to have an almost magical quality about them.

Keep us posted, I really like hearing concierge stories. Or come and visit the Lizard Lounge, where we all talk about concierge and share tips:

Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge Bug?

We love welcoming new people to our Lounge and answering concierge questions.

:flower3: Thanks GoofyJoofy...I just popped in to say hi for now. Gonna read through some of the posts. THANKS!
