The closet in the GFV studio is not overly large, and I don't think that nightstand would fit in there, especially considering you have the high chair, pack & play, and vacuum already in the closet!

I'm assuming it is movable (we stayed in a studio but didn't try moving it.)

I don't think its a smart decision to move the nightstand. The phone and the iHome clock radio sit on the nightstand and I'm not sure it would be that easy to move those items. In addition, the nightstand itself has a very handy electrical outlet and USB connector, ideal for charging items like smartphones, cameras, computers, tablets, etc. If you move the nightstand, you'll lose that outlet and USB port.

If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the nightstand has two drawers. The top drawer had a Bible and phonebook. By relocating those items to the partially opened under-the-bed drawer, we could use both nightstand drawers to store some of our stuff.

That's what we did :thumbsup2. With just DH and I we used the one fully pullout drawer (which is actually quite deep) the two nightstand drawers, and some space in the closet. We then slide one suitcase under the bed and placed the other in the little alcove where the door connects to the other room to keep it out of the way.

The drawer that is blocked by the nightstand will not come out any further if you move the nightstand. It is blocked from coming out further by a mechanism in the drawer to keep people from doing this so it will not help to move the nightstand.

I have stayed in 2 GF studios (a lake view and then standard). In the first studio, I moved the nightstand over a little and as others said the drawer did not come out any more. But I was still able to use it. On my second trip in the standard studio, the second drawer that had opened a little bit was sealed shut. We could not open it at all. I don't know if others have had that experience or if it was just my room. For us the storage was a real issue and seemed unfortunate because the room was plenty spacious and beautiful with loads of special touches that made it comfortable. I have seen some good storage tips on this board so if you look you will get helpful ideas.

Easy fix...make it an open front space. I'm surprised it's not done already.

Disney does not like you moving furniture, so where people start to do more than move the coffee table on wheels to pull out a pull out bed, they find ways to discourage it.

(Moving furniture tends to do things like put dings in walls).

We stayed at GFV in lake view and no storage was the issue. The designer should be fired or moved down the working latter. We shouldn't just say IT'S OK for what it cost to stay there Disney DVC really dropped the ball on this one.
On another note we will stay again ( couple nts) but won't buy there. A long stay with no storage makes things tough. I had most of my clothes up alongside the main TV stacked up and picked through it when I needed something.:confused3:confused3WHAT WERE THEY THINKING ( I don't think they were).
I get tired of people saying it's ok we'll bring this or that to hang or store things ( we shouldn't have to do that) wake up DVC

I believe the new poly DVC has clotheslines over the lake because their not getting dryers:rotfl2: The hot air does a better job drying :lmao:

We just had our first stay at VGF in a Lakeview Studio. There were just 2 of us and although the room is quite nice the lack/loss of drawer space is the worst part of the room. We could not imagine 3, 4 or 5 people staying in the room. We solved the problem by opening the bed under the TV and using it as our drawer space as this is where the chest of drawers would have been anyway.

The closet has too much crap in it between the vacuum and pack-n-play and takes up some of the storage also. Storage is a problem at VGF studios and the trade-off the designers made for other features.

I just love the TV in the bathroom mirror:rotfl2:that never worked for me. What a waste of money

It was a cool thing to see at the model last year before we bought but, in reality we only turned it on a couple of times while watching the news to get the weather update. In ours, room 1110, there were dead bugs between the outside glass and the TV screen and a small pitted chip in the glass also. Nice try but, another fail. Hopefully our last studio stay will be in December. We are looking forward to nothing but 1-Bedroom's going forward.

Our bathroom TV didn't work either. That didn't bother me as much as the lack of storage. And what really annoyed me was the fridge has no freezer compartment and no way to adjust the temp. (Or I couldn't find the dial to adjust it.) By the third day our milk was lukewarm and we had to throw it out. My ice packs were completely melted and worst of all...our wine was warm!
