GF stay end of June. Modified monorail schedule.

We have a stay at the Grand Floridian at the end of June (next month). Just saw on Allears that there will be some refurbishment for the monorail and it will be operating on a modified schedule. It stated alternative transportation will be available. Has anyone heard of this and should be be worried the monorail will not be available? At the price we are paying I would hope this is not the case. Has anyone heard anything about this?

This would be horrible. We’ll be there at the beginning of June. I knew that the railroad was closed, but hadn’t heard about monorail. Anybody know anything??

As I'm going at the end of June into July to the GF as well I decided to investigate this. I opened up a chat on disney's website. The customer support rep said to me:

So i just reached out to Transportation and did not hear anything from them about the monorail schedules being modified.

That isn't to say it won't happen, but it seems the customer service reps don't know anything about it.

Where on Allears did you read this?

The monorail has been on the refurb list for a long time now. It still shows up on our list on the DIS: https://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

But there have been no actual modified schedules in place for several years now.

What @GADisneyDad14 said. It's been on a "modified schedule" for years due to the age pf the monorail. LOL. Won't affect your trip and they won't leave you stranded.

I think you may have looked at an old post. There was work a couple of years ago at the end of June and that is on the All Ears site. There is nothing about this year or next. I can’t find anything about this anywhere and it would have been noted all over the various sites by now.

I have recently been catching up on reading my allears weekly newsletters that I had gotten behind on, and I noticed that all of them have that modified monorail schedule listed under the rehabs and closings section. it was 2-3 years ago that the monorail was really on a modified schedule, with mid day closures, later openings and earlier closings, and different schedules based on which day of the week it was. There was a big hubub on here during that time on the GF and Poly resort threads. That went away a long time ago, and other than random issues I haven't heard of anything since. I think it just never fell off of the list, or they are covering all of their bases since it does have temporary issues so often. But after the big issue a few years ago, we've stayed at all of the monorail resorts and not had problems, I think that's a mix of old news and covereing their butts.

Haven't seen anything, can't find it on Allears, but if it is necessary to put the monorail out of commission periodically for refurbishment, Disney will provide buses.
