Hi to all! New here. We are going to be staying @ GF Sugar Loaf conceirge for our trip next Xmas. We will be there 12/19-12/27. Can someone tell me a little bit about the benefits of conceirge? Also I read somewhere that I could ship our xmas gifts down to the resort ahead of time-has anyone done this? Will the kids be able to visit with santa while we are there? And the conceirge will be able to make our PS reservations for the character meals? We have never stayed conceirge level before so I apologize if some of these questions are redundant. Thanks in advance! Angel

Hello,
My family (DH DD,and me) stayed there Xmas of 2002. This Xmas will be our 6th at WDW (have stayed at various resorts).
We really liked the SLC at GF.
We didn't ship our gifts ahead of time, although I inquired about doing so... I spoke with the Concierge staff, and was given an address, and instructed to put my name, arrival date and res # on outside. We decided to pack a larger suitcase and bring gifts with us. We also brought a decorated tree (we bring every year), and ordered a wreath from Disney Florist which was on our room door when we checked in!
The GF SLC, and the WL concierge have been our 2 favorite Xmas stays.
This year we are staying in a 2BR at BWV.
Any questions feel free to ask.
Deb

...And yes, The concierge stall will make advance priorty seating for you. and help with any pre-planning you need.
Your kids will be able to visit with Santa in the main lobby of the hotel. He manages to be in most of the resorts at the same time...How does he do that ;)
Deb

my typing is awful. Staff, not stall. priority, not priorty...
Sorry,
Deb

where did you have dinner on Xmas day? Any tips related to the holidays would be great! Thanks for the replies! Angel

We had our Christmas dinner at California Grill. It was perfect. We had a table by the window right next to a Christmas tree. We looked directly out at Cinderella's castle through the whole meal.

On Christmas Eve, we had the Candlelight Processional dinner package. We ate at Le Cellier at around 5:15, went to the 8:15 show, and saw the fireworks show, Illuminations, at 9:30. The Candlelight Processional is a MUST DO while you are there.

dwdeb, we were in Sugar Loaf for Christmas 2002 also. :flower: We were there from 12/24 to 1/1. I remeber a wreath on a door across the atrium from us. Were you on the 3rd floor facing the courtyard?

Our older son ordered a Chritmas Tree from the Disney Florist which was delivered the afternoon we checked in while 4 of us were at the marina and our daughter was in the adjoining room. What a surprise!

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Citricos and Christmas dinner at R&C with the Candlelight Processional dinner package. Do try to do the CP package while you're there.

mousketeerwannabe, do you remeber the menu for Christmas at CG? It sounded like a great choice for Christmas.

Frankiesmom, the restaurants at the GF were booked solid for Chritmas Day and Eve so make those ADRs as soon as you can. Have a great time! :cool1:

BCV23, we were on the 3rd floor, but facing the marina side. Our wreath was in the shape of Mickey, decorated with candy canes and a red bow...
Each year we have gone to WDW for Xmas, we have Xmas Eve dinner at Rose and Crown, and Xmas dinner at The Yachtsman's Steakhouse. It has become a tradition! :sunny:
Other great Xmas things to do, are to resort hop to look at the decorations at each resort... They are all so beautifully decorated.

Deb

Deb, that sounds like a great tradition.

We were on the 3rd floor marina side too. We were in the room closest to the elevator and the one next to it in the part overlooking the lobby.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I would love to go to the candlelight processional on Christmas Eve. I think that would be very nice! This would be our 1st Xmas not going to midnite mass-and this sounds like a nice way to bring a little" real reason of the season" into our trip. Thanks again for all the great ideas! Angel

We're staying in SL for the 1st time Nov 29 to Dec 7. How did they hang the wreath on the door?

Thanks!

How are the views from SLC? Is it that splendid that you would not rather have a regular LV? Are the lodge tower rooms worth the extra $ or again, does the view at Boca Chica make up for the smaller space and no conc?

Triplfigs,
They actually put a screw into the wooden door! When maintenance came to take it down so we could ship it home,,there was a nice hole in the door. Maintence person said it would be patched up and painted quickly.
KrisTX,
The views are either facing the quiet pool into the center of the resort, or marina view. Both are lovely.
Deb

Talking about the GF makes me want to stay there this Christmas!!
;)
