Hi -

I just reserved 3 nights at GF RPC and am so psyched!!! I do have a couple of questions.
1. When should I expect to hear from the concierge staff and if I don't, how do I get in contact with them.

2. Are any of the rooms in the main building non-smoking, or are they all smoking optional?

3. What should I expect when we check in, do we go right to the 3rd floor to check in, or do we check in at the main desk?

4. Anything else you feel I should know!!!!

THANKS!!!

1) We received a couple of phone call before our trip, maybe a month in advance. However, if I ever had any questions, I would just email them. SOmeone should have the email for you.

2) As far as I know, all rooms in the main building are smoking optional. We didn't have a problem in the one room we were in.

3) We asked someone at the bellhop desk I believe about registering with concierge. They made a call upstairs and someone came down to get us. You can't just go upstairs, because you don't have card access until you get checked in. This kept us from waiting in the normal line, and it gave us more of an opportunity to talk with someone from concierge.

We are staying at the RPC next month. I am excited about our trip, and I am pleased for you.

We were contacted in February. The CMs have been great to work with so far, and they provided us with tons of information and help for our trip. If you want to contact them, just call the main number at the GF, and ask for the RPC planning office.

All of the rooms are smoking. We have allergies and asthma in our family, so they are going to "desmoke" the room for us. I will let you know how that turns out.

In our planning process, we were given a number for our driver to call when we are in route from the airport to the hotel, so the concierge CMs can meet us at the resort entrance. If you do not receive specific instructions, just ask the CMs what to do during your planning process.

I know that there have been many negative comments on these boards about the RPC and the GF. So far our experience has been terrific!

MJS - I'd appreciate to find out how the de-smoking goes, I only ask because my 1 year old son has asthma. I'm not too worried about it, but you can never be too careful. Did you mention your asthma/allergies to the planning staff? I definately will mention it so hopefully my room will also be de-smoked.

My DH told them. I plan to confirm the desmoking a couple of days before we arrive.

When is your trip?

We'll be at the GF 6/30- 7/3, YC 7/3 - 7/5 and WLV 7/5 - 7/9, I can't wait!!!!! I'll be sure to tell the planning staff when they contact me!!!

What a great trip! I love your resort choices! The YC is my favorite WDW resort (I have not stayed at the GF yet!)

Have a great time! the GF RPC will have a concierge cm come down to greet you when you arrive, they will then excort you upstairs to the concierge desk. it makes checking in a breeze!

you have a wonderful trip planned!!! you're going to have an awesome time! :)

are you staing concierge at the YC also!?? I have had 2 incredibly wonderful stays at the YC concierge!

Laura :)

We were going to stay at YC LV concierge, but my ressies were for 7/2 - 7/4 and when we decided to upgrade to RPC we really wanted to stay 3 nights there, so I had to move my YC ressies up a day. Well, concierge wasn't available for any nights that week, even if we went to YC first. :( :( :( It looks like YC concierge is booked for that entire week and I had to give up my ressie. Oh well, so we're staying in a LV room, we'll just do concierge next time!!!!

Maybe the BC concierge is available. I am sure that the YC LV is great, too! Be sure to ask for a direct view of the Boardwalk. Many of the rooms face other rooms, and the lagoon view is to the left or right.

The concierge is there to book anything you ask - so USE IT! :) I use them to book ALL of the PS... They give great advice as to where to eat and what good times are so you don't miss anything else...

One of the neat things you can do.... if you want to eat at Planet Hollywood, but don' twant to wait in that monster-line up the stairs to wait to put your name in - the RPC Concierge has a special "pass" you can request (I think they only have one), so that you skip that sometime 2 hour line and go right to the front, put your name in, and then it's about 20 minutes from that point... We call it the "Excuse me" pass... THe people waiting on the stairs don't understand why you get to bypass the line. It's a good time. :)

Oh - and Saturday around noons at the Concierge they have a WONDERFUL tex-mex dip.... I dream about it. AND the ice tea mixed with the fresh lemonade. YUM!!! :p

MJS -

I just got off the phone with RPC planning office and I asked them about de-smoking my room. The CM was very nice and explained the whole process to me and I'm very impressed!!! First off, they place a de-ionizer in the room, which removes all the air and "cleans" it. Then they replace all the bedding, drapes, pillows, anything that might harbor smoke. THEN they shampoo the carpets to remove any smells that might be there. She said that after a room has been desmoked that you can't tell that anyone had been smoking in the room and it is very clean!!! They are noting on my reservation that I want the room desmoked and told me to call approx one week before arriving to confirm that it is on my reservation. They don't receive the reservations from the main computer until approx 10 days before check-in, so it might be in our file in the planning office, but might be missed in the room assigning process if it's missing from the reservation.

Hi Lori,
you should call cro and see again if YC concierge is available, sometimes cancellations make it become available. if it isnt you should consider BC concierge! I prefer the decor of the YC, but the concierge is fantastic, and it is the same at both the Y&B club! they share a staff, and all the food, amenities, everything is the same, so based on my YC concierge experiences... you would have just the same exceptional service at the BC concierge!! It really is worth it!!! :)

Laura :)

Thanks for the desmoking process description! I will be sure to reconfirm with them!
