Was the closet any different?

I'm not sure; this was my first visit there. There was a decent size safe in the closet, though, that you could set with any number you want. Very convenient!

Is that a minibar under the TV or just an empty fridge now?

It is an empty fridge. They did give us a minibar key when we checked in, but there was no minibar.

One question: Did you have to fix the Daybed yourself or did you have turndown service and they did it? If you did it yourself, was there sheets and blankets already in the room? Thanks!

We pulled it down the first day. It was already fit with sheets and an extra blanket/pillow was in the closet. From that time on, mousekeeping made it up each day, but only as a bed. It was never folded up again during our stay.


We really enjoyed the hotel! The only drawback was the problems we had with the TV. We were told the entire building was having problems. I think the signal was too weak for the new plasmas. When we received our checkout papers I was surprised to see they gave us a $100 credit for our inconvenience. The entire staff was fantastic!

That is funny about the mini bar key. I know Channing and Brian will be sad to hear the news of no mini bar but there certainly doesn't look like there would be space now anyway.

The rooms are still a little frilly, but much, much better. As soon as the whole resort has been renovated and I come across a 40% code, I might just be on my way to my first GF stay =)

No minibar!! BUMMER!! When we were at the YC I missed the minibar, lol, but planned ahead and ordered a goodie basket. At least w/Gaspies open late it's convenient for a bottle of water and a snack. At the YC after 11 there is nothing handy. We will fill our own fridge at the GF.

Thanks for the great pictures. I am not crazy about the new colors & decor, but will wait til I see them in person to form an opinion. Still, the GF is the best.

The lobby was being renovated for a majority of our stay and I don't know if there are plans to have any vending machines. When I did laundry in another building, I didn't notice any. Gasparilla Grill isn't that far, though. We brought plenty of water with us to fill the fridge.

yes they will all be done and they are suppose to finish in Dec.
