New to the site so bear with me. We are visiting in March and staying at the GF for the first time. We booked a standard room. Any suggestions on a good room to request. With 3 DS 6,9,11 we didn't think we would be in the room enough to justify lagoon view. Should we upgrade or are there nice standard locations? Thanks for your help. Enjoying all the comments on the boards.

I know someone will be here with some great answers. I wanted to say that we are glad you are here and glad you posted your 1st post!!!!!

At the top of this page is WDW FAQ Resorts. Go there and click on Grand Floridian. There are pictures and descriptions of all the rooms and info on the resort. You will love the GF it is one of my favorites.

Thank you for the replies. Great to hear Gonga loves GF. It seemed like I was reading more :( than :D. I was beginning to wonder if we should have returned to Poly. We have stayed their and loved it but I wanted to try something different. My DSs wanted to stick with a monorail resort. The resort information was helpful. Is there a specific room or building that anyone can recommend at the GF?

We stayed in a standard room at GF about 3 years ago. We were facing the marina in Conch Key. We could see part of the lagoon and the monorail in the distance. There are also marina views in Sago Cay.

tross,
What kind of view are you looking for and how much are you looking to spend on accommodations? My husband and I switch off each year between the Poly and the GF. If you have specifics, I can give you my honest opinion of both. There are no negatives to either, but different positives, it all depends on what you are looking for:) By the way did you check for codes that may save you some money??

We are paying $325/night for garden view room only. Booked with code through WDTC. Does that sound like a good rate? The slide and pool are the most important thing to the DSs. How does the volcano pool and slide compare to the new theme pool at the GF? With 5 of us room size and layout are important. Enjoyed watching fireworks and parade from beach at Poly. Being close to transportation and theme pool would be nice if not too loud. Read reports where people were :( with ground level rooms at GF. Gonga you mentioned you switched off between GF and Poly. Is that in one stay? We're staying 6 nights and then 3 at HRH. Wasn't sure if 6 nights was enought to resort hop at Disney. Thanks for your advice.
