I got the reservation made for our youngest DD for the Grand Floridian Pirate Treasure Adventure today!! I'm so glad we got in since they don't do big groups. I was also making them for the DD of our friends who are meeting us there. I was so afraid they were going to tell me there was only room for 1 kid! Now that that reservation is made, I feel like our trip is finally getting closer! Had to wait on hold for a while, but it was great because I got to hear "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirates Life for Me!" and "A Spoon Full of Sugar" - what a great way to start the morning. It put me in a great mood!

For any of you who have done the pirate adventure, can you please tell me just where we will need to go to check in for it? I've never been on the GF property, so I don't know my way around there.

Our children are going on the pirate cruise in June. They said to arrive at the GF marina at 9:30AM. We belong to DVC and just got out DVC magazine and found out that they have a similar kids adventure at the yacht and beach club resort called the albatross treasure cruise that take them to 6 countries in EPCOT to find the treasure. Same price only offered on Wednesdays.

Little sailors must be four and completely potty trained; they specify no pull-ups.

I have a few pictures posted from when my dd went last Oct. You can check them out in the link in my sig.

The ladies do a awesome job on these little adventures...it was the same group of ladies that did all 3 activites.

Thank you for the photos. My triplets are singing "yo, ho, ho" now and running around so excited! My Captain Hook is especially excited!

BTW, do any of the kids ever wear costumes (ie Captain Hook?)

Thanks!

They do rec. that you arrive 15 minutes early. You need to get a pager, fit your child for a life jacket, put on their bandana and name tag.

Also, make sure your child has gone to the POTTY before you come to the marina!

denman007 - thanks for posting the pics! Now DD is even more excited! Those bandanas are too cute.

robmary - what date in June?

I signed my 5 yr. old dd up for this too! She's so excited! She'll be there on May 19th. The cm that I spoke to said to be at the marina at 9am to sign waivers, get life jackets, etc. Any other DIS kids there on the 19th? pirate:

I just wanted to add that my son did this last year and he LOVED it. I was surprised because he is a little on the shy side but he got paired with a nice boy. He can't wait to do it again this time. Although he is already plotting how to find the treasure all by himself. pirate:

Edited to add: they require that the children wear tennis shoes.

My daughter has done the Pirates Cruise quite a few times now. She's always had the best time (but the Grand Adventures in Cooking Class is her favorite). If you'd care to read about the cruise in my daughter's own words, click here and then look for the post on that page entitled, "Grand Floridian Day Three, Part 1." I've got a link in that thread to lots of photos of the event, and some that my daughter took while on it (they're not the greatest photos but she did her best job, bless her little pirate heart ;)).

Have a wonderful vacation. I wish I was young enough to plunder the Seven Seas (Lagoon, that is). pirate:

Congrats on getting your ressie! Did you call exactly ninety days out? It's only a few more days until I am going to try to get my ressies.

Hello KIRSTIN'S MOMMY My daughter is 5 also and she is signed up for the exact day as yours. That is wonderful I was hoping there would be other girls on the cruise she is so excited to be able to go. I guess I will see you guys at the marina. pirate:

I called exactly 90 days out...my 7 yr old son will be going---he got one of the last two seats...he will be going on Thursday June 9th...I was so happy I got him the ressie...I sat on hold for almost an hour to get it!!! He is very excited--Me too---get some Mommy time :)

How do you think a just 4 year old would do?? I know that they have to be 4 and potty trained...how old do the kids go up to?? My son will be turning 4 the day after we arrive (going for his birthday and our 6th anniversary) and he loves pirates, but I was just wondering how much older the other kids could be, as he will be just 4.
Thanks

They're all ages. My dd was 5 when she went. The kids must find a partner before they board the boat. My dd was very nervous about this but she found another little girl about her age - with our help. They held hands as they got on the boat. Once she was on the boat she was fine.

There was another little boy who wouldn't stop crying. The captian had to turn the boat around and let him get off.

I am so excited to read that! Especially since I've read the latest post about each pirate finding a "buddy". Good to know that you guys will be there, we'll see you on the 19th! pirate:

I have another question. I know that lunch is included, where do they eat lunch? Is it at one of the "ports of call"?

I'll be calling in a few weeks for my DDs ressies..Hope we get them. I'm sure they will pair up. I dont' know if that's a good thing or a bad thing..ha! They will be 4.

I called on the first day that I could - exactly 90 days out. I didn't call until @ 8:00 a.m. central time. I'm just so excited that we got in!! I read on another thread that they give the kids PB&J sandwiches. I think I'm going to check with the CM's to see if DD will be able to take along a disposable camera. It would be fun for her to be able to take pictures to show us what she did! And it's always fun to see trips from the kid's perspective. On our last trip, she was four and many of the pictures she took were "knee level". It was so funny seeing pictures from such a low perspective!
