GF Pirate Adventure for Kids

Anyone had any experiences with this ? I have two, dd is 7 and ds is 6. Been to Disney many times, but I was thinking about letting the kiddos do this in May. How long is it? I'm assuming that we won't have to be staying at the GF - we'll be staying on site, at the Poly, though, if that makes a difference.

I booked the pirate cruise for my son, 5 ys old, this past December. But due to separation anxiety, his not mine, he didn't actually go on the boat, just sat there and watched the other kids load up. You do not have to be staying at the GF. But I would advise booking now because they fill up fast. They only have 15 spots I think. If I remember right, its 2 hrs and they feed them lunch. When you arrive and check in the kids get there pirate bandana's and life jacket. People started arriving at 9:15am, the cruise starts at 9:30. And its only on certain days of the week, so call and check the dates.

My kids, 4 and 5 went in september. They had a good time. They are suited up with life jackets, bandanas and name tags and then they go for a two hour cruise. The premise is that they are looking for treasure and in the end everyone gets a bag with a small plastic chest, "gold coins", jewelry and plastic animals. My kids still have the treasure.

My kids had a good time, not exceptional but they enjoyed it. I am glad we did it but I wouldnt hurry back. Spaces fill up, but keep checking becasue they always have cancellations.

My girls (5 and 9) did this last week. They LOVED it! My little one didn't want to be a pirate so she told the boat captain that she was a pirate princess! We had a nice breakfast at the GF while waiting for their return. They had so much fun and want to do it again next year. I don't know how many kids there were, but it seemed like about 18 or 20.

it depends on the kids, i guess.

i booked it for 4yo ds last trip and he enjoyed it, but is in no hurry to go back. he was much more excited by his evening at the kid's club at y&b club and is asking to go back there on the next trip. kind of like the kid who opens the christmas gift and plays with the box, lol!

My daughter has done all three of the GF's children's activities many times, most recently during our last WDW vacation. My 5 year old has done the Pirate cruise twice and loved it both times. On our last trip in Dec my son didn't get a spot but we did get to see the pirates come ashore at the WL.

It was very cute. We moved close enough to hear what was going on between the captain and her crew.

I was very impressed that the CMs maintained strict control over the kids at all times. There was no fooling around by the kids. When some of them started to stray there was a FREEZE moment.

thanks for all the great advice! We're definitely going to do it. Now, I just have to count back 90 days from the trip and set the alarm clock to call first thing that morning! I had no idea it was that popular..thanks so much for filling me in.
