I don't know if I'm posting this in the right spot...
Has anyone tried the Pirate Adventure Cruise? My son will have just turned 4 before our trip and he loves Peter Pan so I think he'll get the whole Pirate thing, but is $25 worth it for 2 hours? Any thoughts would be really appreciated!

We just got back and the kids loved the pirate cruise -- 3 girls, ages 8 and twin 3.5 year olds. The kids were spilt 50-50 girls and boys. We were a bit nervous about sending them by themselves but they were fine. The boat is enclosed by plastic so it seems to be very safe. If you do send him, plan for a long nap afterwards. The kids were sweaty and tired from their journey.

I believe it just went up a couple dollars.

We are thinking of doing the cruise in October. Does anyone know the number of children that are allowed on each cruise? Thanks!

We're actually thinking about October too. Any recommendations on how early we need to book?

HPHILBIN, if you are going in October, you can book this event now since you are within the 120-day booking period. I suggest you book your PS reservation as soon as possible. The children's events at the GF are very popular and quite limited in the number of children who may attend them. I would hate for you to wait until the last minute, only to find out that the event is completely booked up. I have already booked my daughter into all three of the GF's children's activities. I try very hard to leave nothing to chance, especially something that my daughter enjoys so much.

I am going to move this to the themes Park board...where you might get more responces. :)

We did this our last trip when DD was 5.5 and DS 3.5. They both had a wonderful experience and it was well worth the time we had to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe (complete with mimosas!!!). However, DS, though potty-trained for almost a year, ended up having an accident on the return to GF. I don't know if they provide a potty-break in the middle of the cruise or not, but my son isn't known for giving a whole lot of advanced warning! ;) We didn't bring a change of clothes for him and wish we had. Underwear and shorts purchased at the GF shop can be rather expensive. I'd suggest bringing a change of clothes just in case.

HTH!

I booked it today for my son to go in October.

Here are some things I learned:

It's not offered everyday - I know M & W are two days it's offered and it's not offered Tues. I don't know about the weekend.
The cost has gone up to $28.17 per child.
Minimum age is 4
They read a story about the Legend of Gasperella
They collect treasures along the way like gold coins, mardi gras beads, eye patches, rings etc.. and then they divvy it up at the end.
They serve lunch - pb&j, rice krispie treats, juice etc...
They will charge your credit card the day before your child's cruise so you can cancel it up to that point.
In case of rain, call the GF activities desk to see if they are still having it.
The parents have to sign a waiver.

Hope this helps someone else. I really think my son is going to love it!!!

MY youngest did this about five years ago and had a great time.

Actually I believe the cruise if offered Mon, Wed and Thurs - I just booked the cruise for Thursday Oct 23rd...

This will be my son's second cruise. He loved it last time.

My kids and niece will be on the Oct 22 cruise. This will be my kids 2nd cruise. They enjoyed their first voyage so much that I still hear about it 3 years later!!! We have taken 2 trips since then and they really wanted to do it again, but things got in the way then. This year is their year again, and boy are they excited!!! Even my now just turned 6 year old remembers everything about that cruise, so you know he had a great time :) I am sure your kids will too!

BTW-My now nearly 8 y/o daughter says they do stop for 1 potty break. At least they did 3 years ago come Nov :) I assume they still do.

See you there!

I know your son is gonna love it!!! My kids loved it more than all the character meals we have done. In fact, I am 99% sure they would give up a park day to do it LOL!!! When they went before my son was a TINY 3 y/o (23 lbs.), and they took him under their wing. In fact, they almost didn't give him back as they had gotten so attached to him LOL! I was quite worried about letting my kids off on their own out of anyones sight that I knew; because, they had never been without myself, my husband or at least one of our parents whom I totally trust! But, I am glad I got over the fear enough to let them have an adventure that I think they will remember fondly forever :) The look on their faces upon return and as they talked about the voyage (even to this day) was/were priceless! Have a great trip :)

if anyone is cancelling between august 12-20th, let me know. we had it booked in june, but had to rush home for an emergency. we are going to surpridse the girls with a return trip, but cannot get 2 seats for our stay.
