GF or Poly?Help

Hi

We are planning a trip to the world in late augs. The only problme is we cant decide between GF lagoon view or Polynesian Lagoon view.we all love both themes!

What are peoples opinions on the GF dormer rooms and which are the best rooms/building to request to gain a view of the castle?we may also need a smoking room because of my mother but we are willing to give this up for a better view.

Any suggestions on room locations for the poly would also be great.

one more ? I was on ourlaughingplace.com and saw the lagoon corner rooms at the GF. has anyone stayed in one of these? do they cost more? and what buildings/floors do you request when booking a lagoon room?

At the Polynesian, I would request Tahiti for a lagoon view room. All three floors should have basically the same great views. 2nd & 3rd have balconies while the first floor rooms have lanais.

Can't help about the dormer rooms or lagoon view at the GF. We've only stayed in marina view rooms there.

Those are our favorite resorts. Two great choices.

We stayed in one of the GF corner rooms last year. It was in Big Pine Key. The main balcony had a Magic Kingdom view and the small side balcony had a view of the Poly. There was no extra charge for this room, I think we were just lucky. We have stayed there several times, I don't know if this might have helped.

The dormer rooms are smaller than the regular rooms: they sleep four. I stayed in one last February in Sago Cay, overlooking the monorail tracks and woods just west and north of the MK. The balcony is smaller too; it fits only two people. However, the vaulted ceiling more than makes up for the size. It's probably the prettiest room I've ever had in WDW.
