We are going to be staying at the GF in mid-february and are booked in a lodge tower room. Has anyone stayed in this type of room? Are there particular ones with good views I should request? Have only stayed at the GF once and was lucky enough to have main building room, so don't know about the other buildings. I think sugarloaf concierge regular room is also available for same dates....would that be better?

Also, I saw a rumor the pool is being renovated...any data on this?

THANKS, THANKS THANKS!

Hi, there are Lodge Tower Rooms in all the outer lodges and they all have garden views. The top floor lodge tower rooms do not have balconies. They have the high dormer ceilings, though, and are very charming.

There are Lodge Tower Rooms in Sugarloaf and these three rooms are request only. So if you book a standard SL room you COULD request a tower room...but you are taking your chances there. Sugar Loaf is nice if you prefer concierge service....but it's not AS nice as main building. THe offerings are now the same.

Not sure about the pool....it might be too chilly to swim anyway. I've been in Jan and Feb and hit some cool weather.

There is a map on the front page of the GF Faq thread...you can check out the locations of the various lodges and see what you'd prefer to be near....I don't think that requests are paid much attention to these days anyway. Too many people request tooooo much. I always have my requests met at check in.

Happy travels,
Lives4Disney :)

I love the lodge tower rooms. I have only stayed in the lodge tower rooms in Sugar Loaf, but I think they all face the courtyard. Any of the outer lodges would have a good view. I would take a lodge tower room over a regular room in Sugar Loaf. I love having that extra room. I haven't heard anything about the pool, but there are 2 and they wouldn't both be out at the same time.

Welcome to the DIS.
