It's my family's first trip to WDW and we are looking foward to the GF. I have a Garden View room on hold in mid-May. The CM told me Lagoon and Lodge Tower are also available.

A few questions...

Are the Garden view rooms in a good location for a family with young kids (ages 4 & 7)?

Any tips on what I should request to the CM to hopefully get a GV room in a good location?

Is the Lagoon or Lodge Tower upgrade worth the extra money?

Should I keep my GV room and see if an upgrade is possible when I get there? We are going from a Thurs - Tues.

This is a special vacation for us, but I don't want to spend $$ if the upgrade isn't worth it...

I appeal to all you WDW experts out there! Any tips or info would be appreciated. Thanks!

We usually stay in lagoon view rooms because we love the view of Cinderella's Castle. ;) However, there have been times where we've had a lagoon view and not a castle view, so be aware that those exist.

As far as garden view rooms, we've had marina view in Conch Key and monorail view in Sago Cay. Both were nice, and I think that having a garden view gives you more of the GF feeling, as you are actually seeing the resort, instead of looking away from it in the lagoon view. :)

Have a great trip!

Hi! I've stayed at GF 6 times and you are going to LOVE it::yes:: It will be especially beautiful in a sunny month like May:sunny:
The only problem I have with answering your question is that this is your first visit. My particular experience has been that I've actually stayed in the nicest rooms on my first few trips (2 suites and lagoon views) and, more recently, 2 garden view rooms. By the time I stayed in the gv rooms, I was already in love with the resort. Know what I mean?...
Having said that, I would keep your gv view and request Boca Chica - it's my favorite. In fact, I'd request 4th floor, pool view, b/c one of our favorite rooms was our room last Spring Break. It had a nice view of the pool and, especially, of the Main Bldg., which was particularly beautiful at night b/c it's all lit up with tiny white lights around the trim - GORGEOUS! The pool can get noisy but not in a bad way - at least not to us. If I had a baby I was trying to put down for a nap, I might be concerned but if you have a 4 and a 7-year-old, you probably wouldn't mind it either - it's more festive than anything...
Anyway, good luck:earsgirl:
