There are 5 contracts listed for Grand Floridian **

**I didn't check all boards, I got spammed by 1. WOW! 139 -142!

FYI: There have been 8,151 deeds sold so far for VGF.

WOW! 139 -142!

Assume you're referring to a price of $139 to 142. If so, that seems perfectly reasonable to me. Only other option today is $155 direct from DVC...soon to be $165.

With very few contacts available, I see no reason why those sellers should discount further.

I guess to each his own, as the saying goes. I can't see why anyone would leave $15/point on the table not to have full use of their points for 50 years even if we all do agree that it really doesn't matter. It does for <$20 over 50 years, at least to me. I'd have to draw the line somewhere around there.

Why would anybody buy resale under those conditions? Surely the sellers are having to knock another $20-25 MORE off at LEAST to get anyone to take them.

Yes those were the listed prices.

I also would have a hard time with spending 140$ for not full use and 155 for non-restricted points.

I do not know exacty where the breaking point for me would be. (Personally not at this resort either.) I would think just incase I wanted to use for a cruise, or if AP discounts/PAP discounts got limited on resale contracts, something else. I would think if it were that close, I would go direct. I would need a wee bit more off to not see what could be under the iceberg with re-sale rules. I think 30$ would be a miniman, but I am sure someone else maybe who has alot of other points, might not care as they may qualify with other direct points.

**note.. I would not pay direct prices for SSR, so there is a breaking point.. I just don't know if 15-20$ would do it. (Esp on say a 50 point contract.)

By "full use of their points", I assume you're referring to the Disney Collection and Concierge Collection bookings...which we all know are a very poor value. And it's a particularly poor value for VGF which appears to be netting a premium price in rentals.

On a 200 point contract, I certainly don't see any reason to pay $3000-4000 extra to gain access to poor value trade options.

Supply and demand. If there were 50-100 contracts VGF contracts on the market, high supply would depress costs.

But with only a handful of contracts available, I doubt the sellers will have much trouble finding a buyer who is willing to forego the ridiculously-priced non DVC destinations in exchange for saving several thousand dollars.

I'm seeing nine listings, from $132 to $142.

I think "full use" in this context is more about a "loaded" versus "stripped" contract. If you buy direct for ~$15 more, you'd get all of this years points (maybe last year's, too?) to use. Half of those listed have used all of this years points and borrowed from next year, so you aren't getting "full use" of those points. Since points rent for $11-$16, and closing costs are lower buying direct, anything missing a full year's of points is, in my opinion, worth at least $18 less than direct
