Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a "corner" dormer room???? Could anyone give a review "pros/cons" of a dormer room? Also, do the dormer rooms come in LV and GV??? Anyone have any pictures??? THANKS!!!pirate:

Dormer rooms are the top floor rooms. I would imagine that there must be corner ones. They are available in both LV and GV. I stayed in a GV dormer room and loved it. The high ceilings make the room seem huge!!I have pictures but they are regular photographs and I'm not sure how to post regular photos online.Sorry.

The only negative we had about the dormer rooms is their balconies, which ar solid slats of wood. To look out you need to stand up and look over the balcony. You cannot sit and look through the balcony, as you can in regular rooms.

On the other hand, our room was above the boat dock and Narcosees, facing the MK, and the sights and sounds were really cool. The best part was when my wife figured up the werewolf or wolf whe'd been hearing all night was from the haunted mansion. Of course she figured that out when we were standing in line for the attraction. A comment to the effect of "so that's the howling I heard all night" elicited a giggle from the entire family.

Enjoy

We were given a dormer room on our first stay at the GF, and we loved it - the high ceiling makes it so charming! Last year, we were given a regular room, which was nice because of the larger balcony, but we still liked the dormer room just a bit more - we don't spend much time on the balcony, anyway - we're usually so tired that after a few minutes of enjoying the view at the end of each day, we just plop into bed!

We had a corner dormer room in Conch Key, and it was absolutely wonderful! HUGE!!! We had a hallway and then turned left into the room. The room also has 2 balconies; a full size one that overlooks the marina, and the smaller one that looks at the MK and castle.

I believe all corner dormer rooms are lagoon views. Even though there was plenty of space, the room did not have a day bed.

On my only GF stay I requested a dormer room as I like hotels rooms that have something different about them so they don't just feel like a shoe box. We loved the dormer room. I understand they are a bit smaller than the regular rooms but the vaulted ceiling makes up for it. There is a pretty window above the sliding glass door. The balcony is a bit smaller but there is plenty of room for two and our balcony had high stools instead of regular chairs so when we sate we could see over the solid railing.

Thanks so much for the reply's! There will just be 3 of us, so we won't need a daybed. I think I will request a dormer room!:bounce:

Some people don't like them because they do not have daybeds and the balcony walls are solid. I stayed in one and loved it. The vaulted ceiling really adds some charm to it. It was perfect for a romantic trip. I also found it very quiet.
