We are going to Disney, staying at GF. Our group of 11 is subgroup of an even larger group. That being said the person organizing everything for our subgroup has been told (by the TA) that we will have access to the concierge level ‘perks’ even though we are not staying in this level. DH and I don’t think this sounds right. To be frank the cost of concierge level is considerably more and we just don’t see Disney throwing it in for free. With the TA having said this most of our party is planning on utilizing ‘perks’, in fact they are banking on it (i.e. breakfast, snacks…). DH and I are just not comfortable accessing something that we didn’t pay for unless we truly have been given the ok therefore we are not planning to use it.

Has anyone out there heard of a similar situation?

Thanks

Are you staying in a suite? Suite guests have access to the concierge lounges. If you are not in a suite, you have to book concierge lodge or concierge main building in order to enjoy the perks.

Perhaps the term "perks" refers to some pre-planning assistance? If you are part of a magical gathering group, I believe that you can book some specialty things like character meals, Epcot dessert parties and Fireworks cruises. That's not quite the same as the pre-planning amenity offered to concierge guests though. Other than having a suite or actually being booked into a concierge room, I haven't heard of any other situations where your group would have access to the concierge lounge or on site amenities. Sounds like something that should be cleared up by your TA, especially if some of these guests are banking on it. They'll probably be very disappointed when they discover that their room key is not specially coded and they cannot gain access to the concierge floors. I hope he/she can clarify this for you.

Perhaps the TA meant "Lobby Concierge:"

What is Lobby Concierge?

Lobby Concierge (was called Guest Services) is one of the nicest amenities provided at WDW resorts. Lobby Concierge is staffed with Cast Members who are knowledgeable about the parks, transportation, and events. You can purchase admissions media for the parks, water parks, Pleasure Island, or special events at Lobby Concierge. They should be able to answer your Disney transportation questions. You may also use Lobby Concierge to arrange for dining reservations. Make Lobby Conciergeyour next stop after check-in. Ask for maps and timetables for all the parks and inquire about special events at your hotel and elsewhere on property. Many Lobby Concierge counters have signs with park and transportation hours and special events notices.

Lobby Concierge is available at each of the Disney resorts. It is a wonderful service, but a guest does not get access to a Deluxe Resort's concierge lounge unless they are a concierge guest of that resort.

I used Lobby Concierge services on my last vacation and it was wonderful. The desks were staffed with knowledgeable Cast Members who handled my needs beautifully (dinner reservations, dinner show tickets, package shipment, etc.).

You have to use your KTTW to get into the conceirge level/building so, I don't see how that would be possible. :confused3
