GF Concierge vs Poly concierge?

Me too- still wish you two would be there for tour guides! ;)

Meezers- The letter I rec'd from SL CL regarding my upcoming visit (Oct.) states " The Offering includes a continental breakfast in the morning, tea in the afternoon, evening hors d'oeuvres with wine and beer, and concludes with pastries and cordials". Is that Official enough for you? :goodvibes

Triplefigs - You're going to drive yourself nuts with trying to second guess yourself!! Do what I do - once you've made up your mind - do NOT read bad reviews from others.......Sure, It's hard to resist :teeth: But the vacation experience of others is not going to be the same as my vacation experience!! Sometimes it has more to do with attitude (the guest's) than anything a CM has or hasn't done ;) .........

You are so right! I actually unsubscribed from that thread and haven't looked at it again. When you go in October, will you take lots of pictures and post a trip report on SL? I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful time!!!

BTW, what, if anything, have you requested from the IPO staff? Did they make your ADR's? I have sent them our choices for ADR, requested they arrange a DVD player for our room, and the standard room requests. I may ask them to pre-stock (I'm paying of course) our refrigerator with juice boxes, milk, coke, and diet coke.

I go through the same thing before every trip. I currently have a package at BWI for August, DH and I are going alone for our anniversary. I keep wondering if I made the right choice, if I should have chosen the BC or GF, if DH is going to be happy not staying on the monorail, etc. I know we will be happy with our choice because I had good reasons for chosing it and got some really good advice from someone who's judgement I trust when I made the decision.
I think if I were you, I would stick with the GF at Christmas time. I LOVE the Poly concierge, as a matter of fact we are staying there in December, but if I had my way we would be staying at the GF for the beautiful decorations and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the kids overruled me in this instance and chose the Poly. Now that Sugarloaf is full concierge, though, I may just split our stay. :rolleyes1 Or, should I stay at the WL instead, it's supposed to be beautiful. Or, my daughter loves animals, maybe AKL would be the better choice, do you see what I do to myself :confused3

I have stayed in both, in concierge - but GF only once. In my opinion, it's really just a matter of taste. I think inconsistencies in service exist in every Disney hotel, and probably does not occur more often in any one over the other. The Polynesian and GF are usualy the most crowded, so during peak times you have the potential to not receive the attention you might be expecting.

I have had very good experiences at both.

Overall, I think it comes down to a matter of personal taste, and which theme suits you best. For me it's the Polynesian - I also like the concierge lounge a bit better than GF, but everyone's taste varies.

:drinking: Sorry Angel, but I couldn't resist pointing out this Freudian slip. You've always got your mind on the concierge lounge  .

Tammi

:rotfl: Oh my gosh. I didn't even notice that. But, you are right Tammi, I always do have my mind on concierge. My DH is getting ready to take an early retirement next year. He is planning on starting his own business after he takes a couple of months off. I am sure this Sept/Oct trip will be the last one for a while. If it isn't, I can just about guarantee that it will be our last CL for quite a while due to starting a business.

Heres to you Tammi :drinking1

Thank you for the good laugh ;)

Angel,

Please pass your bottle! It must be happy hour somewhere. I could use a swig, it been a rough day with 3 kids! :drinking1
