GF Bus Service

We are staying at the GF next month and were wondering about the bus service. The past few times we have stayed at the Contemporary and the Contemporary buses made regular stops at the TTC and I even want to say we stopped at WL a few times.

My question is do the GF buses stop at the TTC or will we go directly to the destination (Studios, AK, DTD) and do they share with another resort such as the Poly?

GF, Poly, and WL are on the same bus (sometimes). ;) For example... going to DTD the GF is the last pickup before DTD and the last drop off. So going is quick, but coming home is long. For Animal Kingdom, at least when we were there last Fall, the GF had their own bus. BUT, it was during the big PGA event so I don't know if it's like that all the time.

We used the monorail for MK, Epcot, and the TTC. :)

While we were there last month, we shared a bus with the CR & Poly. As stated above, we were last to be picked up and last to be dropped off.

We found the bus service "not that great". By the time we got picked up, the seats were usually full from the CR & Poly. We didn't stop at the TTC, but went directly to DTD, AK or MGM. We also found that the busses didn't come as often as they did when we stayed at other resorts. We'd often watch 2 or 3 busses for another resort go by before one came for us (the only real complaint I have about the GF)..

I, too, have found the GF bus service sporadic, so we have usually taken taxicabs if we were in a hurry to get anywhere. I would suggest that if you want to rely on the bus service, please plan accordingly. (This is true of most of the resorts.)

By the way, Cinmell, have a lovely vacation! The GF is my husband's favorite resort (and I secretly lust over its loveliness myself ;) ).

Most of my GF taxi fares were in the $15 range (plus tip). I think the most expensive trip was from the AKL to the GF and that one was $20-something (plus tip). We never have a car while we're at WDW, so taxis are the way we travel (and usually by van taxis since we usually have a large party with us). If I had to guess, I would say that our average taxi fare was in the $10 range (plus tip). It has been very rare for it to be in the $20-something range (that usually happens if traffic is busy on property and we get stuck in it).

Thank you everyone for your responses! And thank you Janet, we can't wait to go!

I guess I have one more question. We are travelling with our 22 month old daughter and are concerned that the buses will be full by the time they get to the GF. We will also have a stroller with us. Do you find you had trouble finding a seat?

I, too, traveled with a stroller during my last GF stay. Sometimes there were no seats on the bus, but usually a passenger would give up a seat so either my husband or myself could sit down with our young one (gotta love my fellow WDW lovers!). Since our stroller collapsed, we usually stood with it at the back of the bus (and tried very hard to make sure that it didn't bump into any of our fellow passengers).
