Hello all!

We're still very much in the planning stages. Our guest count is looking at about 50-60 as we're from the UK. My worry is that this is too big for the Whitehall Room but too small for the GF ballrooms. Does anyone have any advice on this? I desperately want my wedding in the GF, and really don't fancy the St. Augustine Rooms. From the pictures it looks like an oversized corridor (although I'm sure it's much nicer :lmao: )

Well, if the weather's nice, you can fit more than 50 people in Whitehall because you have the patio. Otherwise, have you considered using one of the restaurants at the GF? It won't work if you're having an evening wedding, but for brunch or lunch, Citricos would be nice, and it's huge! Alternatively, if you're not having dancing, the Marina or Sago Cay would be nice.

We got married in November and I felt exactly the same way!! To be honest I was nervous about the ballroom up until the night of our wedding when I saw it transformed and I can tell you honestly it was gorgeous, so not bland ballroom corridor-y like you and I had thought! Take a look at some of my peeks in my PJ, and if youd like to see more PM me and I can friend you on FB. I have a lot of those pictures on there. I originally wanted an outdoor/indoor mix at Whitehall but our numbers and the type of event I wanted really prevented it. But seriously it was great, and I wouldnt trade it for a second. I actually cant imagine having it anywhere else now because of how perfect it turned out! Let me know if you want more pictures or info! :goodvibes

We are getting married on July first and the guest count is set at 60 people right now. Our pre-reception is in the Whitehall room and patio and our reception is in the St. Augustine ballroom C and D. This is in the GF. The GF ballroom is way to big so I think this will be perfect.

Is there absolutely no way around the no dancing thing in the marina? I know about the no amplified entertainment rule but I feel like there could be some sort of loophole. Probably wishful thinking but the marina locations are so pretty I just have to ask!

Unfortunately, beyond the whole noise-bothering-the-resort-guests thing, there's just not enough room anywhere there for a dance floor. Even the larger patio is terraced. Could you do a dessert party out there after/in the middle of the reception? Or maybe have your cocktail hour there?

Hm, I thought that might be an issue from the pictures. A dessert party is definitely an option. Or maybe dinner outside then dancing in a ballroom. Thanks for the info!
