We are going to be going to the afternoon tea. There will be 6 of us. I was looking at the menu and trying to decide if it would be better for us to order a set tea or ala carte.

Has anyone ever ordered the tea sandwiches ala carte? How many sandwiches are on the tray? What kind of sandwiches are there?
How many sandwiches are on the tray for the set Tea for two?
How many scones are on the set Tea for two?
Thanks for any help?

well, it has been several years since i have done tea so i will defer to someone who has been recent. however, i just wanted to say hi neighber, you are just up the road from me!!:p

If you order the tea for 2, there are four sandwiches plus a little onion tart. The sandwiches are followed by a plate with cream, jam and one scone.

HTH :p

I just went a few weeks ago. There were five sandwiches on each plate with the onion tart. And they are really 1/4 sandwiches with the crusts cut off.

There was a choice of the cream/jam with the scone. We didn't take the cream/jam, but I forgot what we had. So we had the scone and something else, but what???? I can't remember, but I know it was good, as we felt everything was good.

Then you can select two desserts off the dessert tray.

And two pots of tea.

They gave us the jam and cream with the scone but you also get a little cherry fruit tart. The tea for two was very good. You each get to pick a type of tea. Then the 5 finger sandwiches with the onion tart, followed by the scone and fruit tart and extra hot water for your tea pot. Then they follow with the choice of 2 pastries of the 3 tiered tray all this for $35 and we were there for approximately 2 hrs. The time went by fast! This was so enjoyable my DH and I are planning on doing this again next year!

I Want to thank everyone for their replies. I think I have decided to go ala carte. It just makes more sense with two of us being teenagers and kind of picky about what they eat.

Disney Queen just wanted to see hey back nice to hear from a neighbor

We just returned. I chose ala carte while others in my group did the combinations. I ordered peppermint tea, scones with strawberry jam and devonshire cream (should have got a double order, they were THAT good) and one pastry. I have a sweet tooth and am picky about my food so this was GREAT for me. The only scones I've ever had were at the coffee shop and these were completely different. The Garden View scones are fluffy, soft, melt in your mouth treats! They had a few rasins in them and they were warm!

The scones were my favourite too! I bought some at the supermarket the other day... they're not the same :(

The scones were our favorites too! I also bought some and they were not the same either but, I noticed that they kept them in a buffet steamer, so I tried steaming them and they are very close to tasting the same.

When you ordered ala carte did they bring your stuff at different times. How long were you at the tea?
Thanks

Thanks for the tip! I've got two left, so I'll give it a try for breakfast tomorrow :p

Can you substitute any of the sandwiches? I noticed that one sandwich type is egg and I really don't like cold egg. I was wondering if I could change it for another sandwich?
