GF Afternoon Tea and desserts from TS

I've gone twice with my kids and the second time only had 2 times left open in that day for ADR's so I too think the word is getting out. My only problem was when the wanted to charge $6 for DS 5 to have tea :sad2:(we ordered from the ala carte menu instead of the packages). I knew full well he would only take 2 sips but they insisted they had to charge for him and he couldn't share my whole pot with me. So, I opted to order him a milk and let him share my tea, then the lady took his china tea service away that was sitting in front of him, he was near tears as she did this. I pushed my tea cup over in front of him and each time I wanted a sip I had to reach across the table to do so. My total bill was over $50 so I didn't think I was asking too much that he have a few sips from my tea.

Ok--I went ahead and booked it anyway. They booked 2 tables for 2 but said they can't guarantee that the tables will be together. Do you think I should have waited to see if a table for 3 came available or just take my chances at check in at the GF for the tea? Would they try to accomodate us and put us together anyway do ya think?? Thanks!:drinking1

OK just to point out even though on the ressie you book it as 2 tables of 2 when you get there they will put you as a table of 3 or litterally sit you next to each other. The booking system only allows certain table sizes that's all and the Garden View Lounge doesn't have many 4-top tables so usually you can only get tables of 2. I have never had a problem with being sat seperately as remember you are only booking the next available table not actually booking a specific table. When you check in they will then either find you a 4-top or they will sit you on 2 x 2 tops which are right next to each other. The 2 tops tend to be along the side with a connecting sofa and they will (or did with us) pull the tables closer so its easy to chat together.

Seriously do not worry about the table size! Restaurants will try there hardest to put you together and you're more than likely to get them together.

Gismo, I was hoping that was the case. When we booked and she suggested 2x2, I did ask if they would be next to each other and she said she could not guarantee they would even be close to each other, just that we would have 2 tables. thanks!;)

Ok, I JUST booked for Saturday, Sept 6th for a party of 6!

You're lucky. I just tried to book for October 18th and was unable to get an ADR. I might try calling back every now and then to see if anything opens up.
