We've just changed our res to the GF - it became available due to hurricane cancellations.

Never stayed here and would much appreciate any advice concerning which Lodge/view to request? I booked a garden view (could not bring myself to book the lagoon price) and requested a marina view (which the CM said was included in the garden view).

I've visited the GF and often said I would not stay there, having been in a room..but I figure how will I know if I don't try ;) For 3 nights it'll be fun! Due to Jeanne we cannot leave until Wed 9/29 (instead of 9/27) and must still return on Sat , 10/2 so we are 3 nghts instead of 5.

Thanks for your help!
ps does the water shuttle go to FW?

GF is a beautiful resort! I'm not sure about which lodge to book for a garden view . . .we've stayed in Boca Chica, and Conch Key but both were Lagoon views. Not sure if Sago Cay has the garden view although I think it does cause its near the marina? No matter where you are the grounds are absolutely lovely to walk.

I don't think the ferry that is on the 7 Seas Lagoon will take you to FW. You might have to go to MK and then get on the WL/FW ferry . . but not sure.

Hope you have a great time!

I was thinking of the water shuttle to and from the MK. The Poly, Cont and WL all have water shuttles that for MK and ones that go to FW - which is incredibly convienent for the Hoop-dee-doo!

I'll soon find out!

Thanks, WIsh Upon A Star - I'm really looking forward to the GF!

P.S. Just checked a GF map and both Boca Chica and Conch Key
have garden views..Conch Key also has marina views - what was the room decor like and is it close to the water shuttle and main building? A pretty walk?

Thank you!!

Bacibecky, at the top of the resort page you'll see a thread entitled Resort FAQs...or something like that.:teeth: Inside that thread there is a link to a FAQ about GF put together by California Dreaming. Lots of ifo there including pictures of the various decor.

We were in Conch Key this summer although we had a lagoon view on the end. It is right by the resort launch. The decor was the blue one...Alice I think??? Although this may be the farthest from the main buiding, it is still a short and lovely walk.

I remember that direct launch from the Polynesian to HoopdeDoo...glad to hear someone else does.::yes:: It no longer runs. These days, there is a MK/GF/Polynesian loop as well as a MK/WL/FW loop.:boat: There is also a launch from the CR to WL/FW I believe although I've never taken that.

Have a great trip!

Hi,

BCV23 ~

Yes, I read through the great job california dreaming put together, but I might have missed the description of the Lodges. It's always nice to get recent feedback from those who have stayed there! The day before we arrive I'll call as things should have quieted down there a bit and request a Lodge.

Too bad about the water launch - but we can go to MK by monorial and then take the MK/FW launch - think that would be the easiest and shortest, yes?

I so appreciate the input!

Christine
Love that boat!!!!!

Christine, I looked in the FAQ for the pictures of the room decor and didn't find it either.:( I know it used to be there as I spent a lot of time reading the FAQ a few years ago before our first GF stay. I guess Cali must have left it out of the newest version. Sorry for the misinfo!

Yes, the monorail and then the boat would probably the fastest and easiest way to go using WDW transportation. Coming back it might be faster to take the bus to the TTC and hop the monorail. Of course the boats are so much fun.

If you have a car, it might be even faster to drive to the FW parking lot and then take the internal bus but again not as much fun.

I love the boats too!::yes::

Thanks, BCV23! Not to worry about the FAQ site - I could have very easily missed the photos!!

I did find some, but cannot remember where..time for me to get off this computer for awhile!!
Night all!!
Christine
