Yes, No? Do you do it? What did you get?

We just told our DD's kindergarten teacher she will be out a week in December and she was very nice about it and I started wondering if it is standard practice to bring them back a little gift?

we always get a gift for the teachers, and usually something small for the kids in our kiddos classes (last trip it was the mickey head stickers that were being given out everywhere for the kids)

Since you're going in December, what about a christmas ornament?

We bought the teachers kooky pens. The kids picked out the teachers favorite characters.

i would bring back things the teacher could use like stickers, pads, pens, pencils, treasure chest items for good behavior.

My dd gave her teachers WDW pencils. They only cost $1 and it was a useful and budget friendly gift.

We brought back a couple of pins for the teachers. One was a pumpkin with mickey ears and the other was a ghost with mickey ears. I figured if they are like us they don't need anything else that is going to take up room at home and clutter things up. AT least with a small pin like that it is something they can put in jewelry box and reuse next Halloween.

We took the kids out of school this fall for our trip and their teachers couldn't have been nicer about it. We brought them back a pen and a rice krispie Mickey. The kids each picked out a postcard and we wrote them a thank-you note for getting all their homework together. Not too expensive, just a gesture.

You will not get a "standard practice" answer on this board! I have never received a souvenier from a student's Disney trip.

My daughter loves her teacher so much and just had to get her something. She wanted to get her flip flops since she said her teacher loves them but I said that wasn't a good idea. We wound up getting her a sticky note pad with the parks listed on each side and it had a spot so you could stick a pen through it. My daughter also gave her teacher and the teacher's assistant a flower lei that we got at Ohana.

For my kids' teachers, we always get the canvas WDW tote bags that are the "special" in the gift shops.....get one for $10.00 with a minimum amount purchase (I think it's $40.00).

Btw, I am a teacher (and also DVC member). Two years ago, one of my students went to WDW over Thanksgiving & came back with two WDW Xmas pins for me. :santa: Love them!!

I think it is really nice to do so. When our kids were younger and we went at Thanksgiving time, we liked to get Christmas ornaments for teachers and family. They always have one with the characters and the year that we love. Of course, there are tons of things to choose from.

Always got them for Ds's teachers and got them myself about half the times that my kids have gone.

We brought back Mickey choclate covered pretzles for DD's 1st grade teacher this year. Gave them to her with a little thank you note for the extra time she took to prepare a packet for DD with the work she was going to miss. To let her know that we appreciated that she spent that time for us to have a nice vacation :)

When our oldest DS was in Kindergarten, his spring break didn't align with my DH's spring break, so we took him out of school during my DH's spring break. His teacher went out of her way to get the work he was going to miss to us before we left. The class was also doing a special craft project where they were going to try to catch Lepricans in a box (we were at Disney over St. Patricks Day), so she had him make his box a week early, so he wouldn't miss out on that fun activity. We wanted to bring her back something for a small thank you gift. We bought his teacher and his teacher's assistant pens, pencils, and notepads. This last trip, my DS spring break was the same week as my DH, so we were there over spring break...he didn't miss any school and so we didn't bring his teacher anything back. He did send his teacher and teacher's assistant a post card. He wanted to send it from the Magic Kingdom, we thought the postmark might have something special on it from Main St, but it didn't.

You can never have enough canvas bags. I think that is a great idea.

we always bring back a gift for the teachers, usually Disney chocolates!

We get chocolate for teachers, and Mickey shaped suckers for classmates. DD already has some of her spending money set aside for suckers (I'll pay for them, but it's cute to think she's doing it!)

What a great idea!

What about a picture frame or some of their stationary items, maybe a coffee mug.

2 years ago when we went, we brought back a nice pen and notepad set for each teacher to use and also as a class gift, I found really nice hard page books with Disney stories in them. We had the girls write a note to their class with the year and their name on the inside cover of the book, and the teacher put them in her classroom library. And we also brought back stickers and pencils for each kid.
